we are selling our 1973 Capri Blue F engine 3 speed. Body and paint are solid. Very little rust. Runs well. Just gave it a tune up, all fluids changed and new battery. I believe it needs a little brake work. Drums are very squeaky. I have a lot of misc parts including wiper motor and wiper arms. I have a set of front OEM seats just recovered in tan or keep the Corbeau currently installed. Your choice.
I purchased late spring intending to fix it up as our weekend driver. The day it was delivered a good Freind offered his fully restored 1977 and it had AC…that sealed the deal with the wife. I still prefer the color and doors of the 1973 but AC in Texas is hard to beat.
This is a solid rig ready to drive or finish tweaking it.

1978 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40
Original 2F engine. I purchased this FJ40 in 2015 and it has been garage kept since. Since I’ve had it, I’ve replaced the suspension (2” lift - ironman), new tires (33” BFG KM2s), new carburetor (de-smogged). Currently has the jump seats in back, but I also have a bench seat (able to use with child’s car seat), which can easily be swapped back in. No power steering or AC. A previous owner put the diamond plates on the rear quarter panels, and I've never taken them off. Normal surface rust, but nothing major (i.e. holes in the body, etc.)

Hoping to Trade my 68 ford bronco for an early model FJ40 (bifold hatch would be ideal :D but I am open minded). open to cash negotiations as well with it. Both the broncos and FJ40's are highly desireable, which is cool and all, but It would be rad if cool vehicles were still accessible for everyone
As for the FJ40, like i said a bifold hatch would be cool, stock sized suspension would also be cool, im pretty good at welding some some metal work is no problem, im pretty okay at running wires so a little electrical aint a problem. I am looking for a Toyota FJ40 project. It does not have to be in great shape, but needs to be something that I can get back on the road.
I am looking for a father/son project for my 12 year old son. I am a teacher and I don't have a big budget, so that is why I am looking for a project. I can do metal and mechanic work, so a rough project with some rust is OK.
I can come pick it up with a trailer if it is within a reasonable distance from Atlanta GA (200-300 miles).

Selling for $18000. 1971 Toyota FJ40 restoration project - already prepped for a full restoration. Still contains the presumably-original 3.9L I6 and 3-speed manual transmission. The five-digit odometer currently indicates 8,502 miles - we’re unsure how many times it’s rolled over. The vehicle’s paint has been sanded down and primered, so it’s ready for a full repaint. Only noticeable defects with paint: some pitting near the front edge of the hood. All original badges are still present and ready for installation.
As far as the interior goes, everything is here. The seats have been removed (new seats provided), there’s a new dash cover to replace the existing cracked one, and there’s new headliner padding. Other notable items included...

1969 FJ40 restored over the course of several years. Frame and most of body from a '69, replaced 1/4 panels, rear sill, rocker panels- all the normally rusty stuff was cut out and new metal. DP90 epoxy primer with 6H9 Grayish Olive single stage over it. Color matched Raptor liner on the under side and floors inside. To be clear, I am an amateur at paint and body, but I think it turned out pretty well.
Axles from a '76 with front disc brakes and 4sp transmission from the '76, fuel injected 3FE engine from an '89. Full Old Man Emu Dakar suspension. Been driving it the last 4 summers. Looking for a FJ40 that you can run 75MPH down the freeway and then cruise the Rubicon with ease this is it. Don't want to see it go but its time for someone to finish the few things it needs and enjoy it more than I can. Below is a list of the mods.
