Working on putting an AC system back together... I've been putting this off for too long. Condenser and drier are mounted, need to put the manifold on the pump and start mocking up the new lines over the next few days.
For anyone curious the condenser is a 16 x 26, and that is absolutely the largest that would fit. I'd recommend dropping down a size to make mounting it easier; clearance is tighter than I would like in a few places but it clears.

Been looking into this also. Tight in height I assume, I see they have a 14.25" vs the 16" or drop down to 12"?

Yep, height is the main issue but narrower width wise would also make the mounting brackets easier, and you could probably push it back into the recess between the core support and the front of the radiator if you wanted to save space.
14.25" would be good.

Can you share where you sourced the condenser?

I got one of the ones that come with a drier mounted to the front. I didn’t end up having enough room to leave it there, but the aluminum tube it came with worked great in the factory location after a little adjustment in a vise to get it pointed in the right direction.

Upgraded my console to teak, to match shift knobs and head liner. Changed seats to brown one from black and red, same kind as I had, from a Mini Cooper. Still planning to make a more matching cup holder.

Also, made a steering wheel cover from seat leather from the back seats that I didn’t need.

Last weekend but catching up now since work was crazy this week…

Picked up 2 yards of mulch for the boy to spread and then got the trailer ready for rafting and built up my cat for a float trip next week. Can’t wait to turn my phone off for all most two weeks…

Had a gig last weekend at a small festival about an hour outside of Munich and used Betty for the first time to haul all my gear... didn't even have to put the back seat down. And my cut *almost* covered the cost of gas to drive there and back. :)

My wife is the drummer and I’m the guitar player, so we carry a lot of gear in the 60 for shows. If we play our cards right and pull off some good Tetris, we can fit her drums, cymbals, and hardware along with my amp head, cabinet, guitar, and pedal/cable case in the back without flipping the seat down. It’s a squeeze but the 60 does it.

When I lived in Austin, my 'gig' transport went from '68 Volvo 122SW -> '64 2D Galaxie 500 -> '72 VW Westphalia -> Betty Blue. lol I guess I'm in love with the arcane design. For loading in/out, BB is 'teh besto'... but I wish I had kept all of them. :p

I’d like to have that 64 Galaxie 500, one of my all time faves!
Got any pics of it?

Yeah, I lurved that car....I've got some in a storage box in Austin, I'll try to grab some next . She was about a mile long and almost as wide, lol. I'm 5'9" but could stretch out flat in the back seat. Wimbledon white with ruby red interior. /sigh
