No working dome/interior light inside my 80. All headlights, taillights, sunroof, radio, horn, etc work. The front/middle dome has an aftermarket led light in it. Both leds appear to be funcionable. I even got a new bulb and replaced them, still did not work. Checked fuses and they are good. I'm stuck?

Did you get new LEDs or a new OEM bulb to replace them the last time? The fuse is new you said or just looks ok? They are in the on or door position?

Just asking the simple stuff first.

Check each one of the switches on the doors. Grab them and give them a wiggle, mine sometimes go out on me if the kids are playing around with the rubber surround on the switches.

When I bought my LX the dome light did not work either. There is a fuse (10 Amp IIRC) in the fuse panel on the drivers side inner fender. That's all it took.:)

I checked the dome fuse under the hood next to the battery. the fuse was good. I checked all the fuses in the panel under the steering wheel. These are the only 2 fuse panel locations I know of? Is there another fuse panel location? The lights will not work in on or door position. The pins on the inside of the door may be bad? THe lights don't change by pushing the pins in or out.

Test the door switches, your radio and clock should be on the same fuse...keeps your preset stations and time for clock.

Open the doors & rear hatch flick the switches, manually manipulate door switches and or ground door switch wiring by using a length of wire across the terminals.

Take the surround off and check the wiring. My passenger area light was unplugged.

Check screws that hold te domelight to the ceiling for a good ground. iirc

Bumping for the same problem.

You'll probably need to give a little more info to get some help. What exactly is the problem? Have you checked the things listed in this thread? Have you checked anything?

Yeah i had checked every door switch and that all screws were grounding the fixtures and the fuse for dome lights. Fix was get rid of OEM bulbs and install LEDs, now they work great !! who woulda thought $4.87 on eBay would make it light up nice and bright.

Are you getting power to the bulb? Is your ground side grounded? Is the bulb any good? This will tell you which side of the circuit you need to troubleshoot. If both sides are good, it is most likely the bulb or the dome light switch itself, not always though.

I did not see your fix, sorry, should. How interesting that OEM bulbs would not work.

bump...again.... same problem. Replaced a blown fuse, only worked for a couple days. Fuse didn't blow, but my dome light doesn't work. Tested the door switches, nothing.... I'm so frustrated.

hello, new to the forum, this is my first post. I am having a similar problem in my 95 LC. The dome light above the front seats functions normally as do the lights in the two front doors. However, the rear dome light and the lights in the rear doors do not work at all, no matter what I do. Anyone have any ideas?

Try superbrightleds.com. they have replacement bulbs that work like a charm and they are fairly inexpensive.

i guess i assumed it wasn't burnt out bulbs because nothing in the rear works and everything in the front works. I guess I should try the obvious stuff first.
