Ordered a set from Wet Okole, cost 235 + 20 shipping=255. These seat covers are awesome. Custom-fit perfectly, not universal at all, have pre-cut holes for outside seat latch plates. Took about 2 1/2 hours to remove and disassemble seats to install properly (I know, I'm slow).
Anyway, I had them in a FJ62 a few years back and now I remember how great they felt . Thought others might like as well. See pics attached:

those look nice............good job on the install.

how did the old ones in the 62 hold up to abuse ? and what kind of shape were the seats in the 40 in before the covers ? i ask because i have a set of factory seats for my 76 that i would like use but i may have to find some lower foam pieces. and it is pricey to recover with factory style vinyl.

They held up nice, but the vinyl is better for abuse (stains and durability). Original seats were near perfect. (see pics) I had extra foam pieces added to the bottoms for more support. Not sure about the pricing of factory style vinyl, I just like the Okole's because of the support they have and how they feel warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Those look great. I looked at Okole's for a previous vehicle but never pulled the trigger. Are they still able to make them in whatever color combos you'd like?

Those look really good. Glad you posted pictures....will keep this in my head for a good idea.

Nice work...

Usually they come black on the outsides and whatever color you choose on the inside. However; the set I got a while back for the FJ62 I was able to get them to do Brown on the outsides and a tan color on the inside. I did have to beg and plead a while to get it done.

Looks nice. I tried to order a set a few years ago for my 40, and at that time they had no template for the FJ40 and really wouldn't do a vehicle older than '80 or '81..

Very kewl

thanks for the reply and the pics, mine dont even come close to being in that shape. but i might still think about it because i dont care for the seats the PO installed.
