I have a 72 as well, noticed you deleted the evaporator system behind the center seat. What was involved in doing so and is there any advantage to delete it? I noticed you update your fuel tank as well. Sorry a little off topic.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m not sure there is any advantage in deleting it… some will probably argue it’s better to retain it to cut down on gas smell while it’s venting. The caveat is weather it’s working or not in the first place.
I mostly took it out just to reduce complexity and the mess of all the tubes. I’m still considering making the space a storage area of some type.
That’s the stock tank. I just capped off the additional ports
 
Great thread and pics. I wish I had seen this prior to fitting my covers. Now I get to do it again 🤣
Their ‘detailed instructions’ leave a bit to be desired. I may replaced the string with wire as well, I think I already screwed that part up anyway.
