NOTE: in my excitement, I went ahead and bolted the seat down.... you'd think I'd have learned by now, done this a thousand other times on this project. Not thinking ahead and realizing there is no way to put the backrest brackets on while in place (the gas tank hose, driver's seat etc blocks access)... had to pull it out again

That looks great. I'm waiting on the covers to come for mine.

of course, no instructions or information with the kit. both seat backs (driver/ passenger) are the same dimensions but the foam they sent was different. one piece had a foam around the entire back, the other piece had a cut out on the bottom. I just guessed that the piece with the cut out was for the driver's seat as the bottom was a little different and it is technically the one that folds? I'm sure someone will tell me I guessed incorrect but it's too late now :)

looking at some old pictures, the top of the seat frame had some thin foam over the metal seam. I couldn't come up with a good foam substitute so I wrapped it with some heavy PVC tape to smooth it out

again, some instructions would have been nice... maybe. as I said before, both seat backs are the same size but the covers, like the foam, were different sizes: one being somewhat larger. given that the foam I used was missing the bottom portion, I surmised it must take the smaller of the covers. it was a major struggle to get it on - super tight. I left in the sun to the point where I could barely touch it and was just able to stretch it on. both of the bottom corner seams were at the point of ripping apart. I kept working it and got it placed to where it at least didn't seem to be at the breaking point. pulled the fabric over the frame and clamped it with the supplied clips

placing the back panel and piping. I started at the bottom center and worked my way around, placing screws to hold the piping as I worked it under. it went a lot easier than I thought it would. the panel puts just enough tension on the piping to work it under and hold it. corners notched at the bottom to bend the hard 90

as tight as the driver's side cover was, this side was way loose. it was really frustrating and disappointing because no matter how I worked it, the material had so much excess.... trying to get all the folds smooth was impossible and the best I could manage was pulling them to the upper corner. the other maddening part was the bottom cut outs for the frame. the material was so short on the corner, no matter how I pulled it, there was a gap around the frame. granted, this will be covered by the bracket but I was not happy.

I had to make a new mounting/ pivot pin for the middle section. I thought I had posted this somewhere before but couldn't find it. basically, cut down a larger bolt to fit the passenger side pivot hole then drilled and welded a smaller bolt to fit the center piece
