no, i'm too invested in the 40 now. Once i get the $$ for the ford OD tranny i'll be much happier with her. That and when i install the low mileage 350 i have sitting across town in place of that tired 305

on the runner:
some sliders.
just completed the 3.5 inch lift, fj cruiser 17s and 285 duratracs.

On the cruiser
Center rear diff
fix multiple oil leaks
install fj62 powersteering
finish sm465/dana300 swap
soap+water

Modified list for 2012

FJ55
Longfield 27 spline birfs (have, need to install)
Front axle rebuild
Wheel it

FJC
All new ICON extended travel suspension (waiting to come in)
BudBuilt skids (need to go pick up)
Prototype rear storage (waiting on delivery)
TRAC hack
Raise breathers
Plan for Atlas TC, SAC, 37's, & 4.88s
Already did Metal-tech sliders and bumpers, rear locker/ATRAC hack

why the TRAC hack? Isn't the ATRAC hack enough? Also, why bother with the suspension upgrade, if you are going to SAC this year. You will probably wind up redoing the rear to some degree, once the front is done, unless you like the stinkbug look.

I'm doing the TRAC hack so I can turn TRAC off in 2WD or 4HI. ATRAC hack was for 4LO and has been working great.

The ICON suspension upgrade is going on as soon as it comes in. My current shocks are worn out so I upgraded to ICON with the extended travel front (1", not 2"). I'm planning for a SAC but the actual work probably won't be until the end of next year. An Atlas will be first, and then the SAC and when I do the SAC I'll regear the diffs to 4.88s and link the rear.

this thread went south when steve started talking about his sac

Your kidding right

There is no way I am posting a new list, I'm still working on finishing the list I made in BT-60 rebirth, and that was in 2007 or 2008. Still working and soon it will be finished (at least the list, not the mods.) Snails get there too it's just after everyone else has left. :D:wrench:every once in a while:beer:and tell lies much more often.

Preaching to the choir myfriend. Preaching to the choir!!:bang:

My list is too long and getting longer...At least I've decided not to do any more upgrades to the Jeep.

I think Marshall posted something about getting rid of his hyper shackles. You should buy those for the 62, might help with the rub. Or maybe you should do a soa.

5"springs and SOA...I don't think so!!

updated list:
Swap out tranny and tcase
rebuild axle
homemade trollhole sliders

So after a while of putting my 62 out there to see if i could get a bite on trading for a 40, i've decided to pull it. Reason being, most 40 owners that have contacted me have had major issues. Wasn't really looking to spend alot of money on another project so it keeping the 62.

New plans:

4.88's
35's (should be good to go with current lift)
Desmog (need to pull as much power out of the 3fe/keeping the auto bc i'm lazy)
cut rear quarters and adding more protection to the rear bumper
Weld an extra bar accross the sliders
install winch w/new battery cables
Lunchbox lockers F&R

With stock axles and 35s?

I ran 37s and stock axles with a rear locker without issue. They can handle it if you drive it right using finess and momentum, but if you are like Dan and the only way you know how to wheel is with the skinny pedal pushed through the floor board engine bouncing off the red-line.... they prob. won't last long :hillbilly:
