We, over in the 40 section, are taking our old worn out motors with old technology and replacing them with better technology which is of course the 2f and the 3fe out of the 60/62 which currently reside in your vehicles. So watch out for us as we will be visiting a junkyard near you and stealing all your parts.

ya can have mine whenever i get around to getting a 350 in there, my 3fe hasnt been giving me any love lately. currently waiting for an ecu. seems like every other week something needs to be fixed.
i cant understand someone wanting one personally. my 3B on the other hand, now that is a little motor that gets my respect.

i respect the hell out of the simplicity and reliability of the 2F. i drive that old b!#ch to death in dallas traffic but he reality is i'm an impatient SOB and i want throttle response. i'm sick of tapping the brakes right in line with everyone else but when they take off again a huge gap forms in front of my old girl and everybody on the interstate hops into my lane right in front of me. i'll be saving my greenbacks and hope to give aintscared an opportunity to drop a 350 in her next year too.

For Dallas traffic a 6000lbs vehicle with a 350 kinda evens things out! KIA's tend to move when they see you coming up on them. As for the cross posting hey no worries I am in the 40's section building as well. The 3FE is a great fit in the 40 and it can bark tires!

Where the hell were you when I got rid of my perfect 2F?! I couldn't give the fawker away! I eventually sold it for scrap. I got a whole $20 for it.

If any of you want to part ways with a 3fe or 2f let me know. I'm not willing to pay much if anything since shipping or my gas cost a lot but if you plan on sending any drivetrain parts to the scrapper I'll do my best at getting it and holding on to it until I can rebuild it or give it to someone who needs it.

f motors must really suck. I would have never thought a 2f or 3f could be considered an upgrade

F motors are really not that bad. Only around 10 less hp than a 2f. But they can be pretty hard to get more HP out of. The oiling system was not all that great.

Now a later 2f you can add a high lift cam bore it way out. I've heard of some going all the way out to 100. Better balancing. And just an all over better design out of the 3f and 2f.

Most people install a FJ60 motor or fj62 motor because is it's a better design and a drop in replacement where a 350 is not.

Most 4 owners don't need a whole heck of a lot of HP. They are pretty light. A good solid 2f will push that brick easily up to 70. Now a 60 is another story. I feel sorry for a 2f that has to push that chunk. Especially when you add bumpers, sliders, and a tired motor.

I'm hoping to get well over 200hp out of my 86 2f. Matt is the crazy one looking for well over 400hp out of a 3fe.

Are you going to dyno it? I'm fairly pleased* with the power from my rebuilt 2F. It feels way stronger on the top end than stock. It will easily push the 60 to 80mph. I've wanted to dyno it just to see what it's making.


(*with AC off and fan clutch not running. In the summer, it really seems to sap the power with both running.)
