I just grabbed the spare and lifted it up...getting one bolt in first and then the others. Easier than lifting one while sitting on my ass in driveway to rotate tires with my floor jack. :D

I dont get any vibration or noise from the rear bumper at all..none...zilch...nada. After about 3 months of heavy use I had to readjust the locking clamp for a snugger fit when closed and latched but it is very very solid setup on my rig.

Yeap , I am not seeing any vibration on the spare while driving. The swing arm sandwiches on the bumper resting on a resin bumper to create a vibration and rattle free fit. The tire depending on what you have can be grabbed and lifted up on there. The rear bumper however you need two people to pick it up, but my wife was able to help me lift it up and on the back.. Once lifted up the bumper will rest on the rear cross frame while you bolt it on there. Of course this is the bolt on rear bumper.

bike rack

Does a bike rack fit with a spare on back ?? It does with a BIO bolt on. I thought I would post up for those of you considering this bumper.

the more shots of it I see the more I continue to be impressed. Mike does some nice work!

Nice! I've been looking for a new bike rack and wanted to make sure it would fit w a spare tire swing out. I'm guessing by your photos the high clearance design probably wouldn't fit with your rack since its a few inches closer to the truck. Your new setup looks great though. Looks like you are ready for a serious road trip.

I have the high clearance bumper. To use my hitch mounted rack I just bought a 2" x 12" extension to put the rack out far enough away from the spare. Works fine.

Thanks for posting. A bike rack for me is a must-have. I also wanted to keep with a tray rack as I usually have an all-mountain FS bike or two in the garage, plus I can't stand getting the front wheel to align perfectly so that the rotor doesn't rub.

You make me sick..... ************

You coming to URE sept 16-18?

Not sure , I have a technology conf that weekend that I might go too. It is fri, sat, sun. its a great time to geek out... but if I do make it I am taking my mt bike and doing some riding !!

I wonder how that "bolt on" BIO bumper campares to the Slee bumper. Do you know anyone that has a Slee that you can take some side by side pictures?

I have never seen a slee rear in person but did talk with some who had one and I looked at photos in detail. There are several small details that sold me on the BIO and lets face it the price was lower. The three things that sold me where price, struts on the swing outs, and the safety locking pin location is near the latches so you don't have to reach around your tire to open.

I don't think you can go wrong with either.. and if I lived near Slee and could pick it up , it would of made up the price diff. shipping was $$$.

Thanks to pfran42, I am now on the LED train ! including the backup lights !!! I cant wait to see them at night.

Well just went over my paper work from when I bought my truck and found that I am running the OME 865 in the rear which too me feels to soft now that I have the full rear bumper on. I am going to upgrade to the OME 866 so if anyone is looking at 865 rear springs these are only two years old with light wheeling.

Now I need to find a good deal on OME 866 !

What's the height of the 865's and a empty 100?

I want a little more height. If the 865's are taller unloaded we can swap.

I think the 865 and the 866 are 2 inch but the 866 is the heavy load (200-300lb) where the 865 is mid load. (0-200lb). Are you running OME springs in the rear ?

Ah. Nm then. I want to go 860's. Give me an offer that I can't resist :)

Are you running the 866 ? I think it is the 863 is the 3inch ... but for some reason only shows for the 2000 and above LC.

I buy yours then I watch you switch them out ? while I drinking enough beer for two people..

I had enough beer for a small crowd last night. All yours....

Ok I lied, I'm enjoying one now

Below is my 100 with 866 and tbars... I want 860's. Let me know what IPOR says this week. Can't wait for d-town either. I can help you swap coils on a weekend or late after work.
