Been toying with the idea of installing a good set of LED headlights in my 82 45, so were else to start to see what's available but the flea bay, "wow" I did not realize that the market on LED 7" headlights got this big.
Last I looked was a few years ago. Most on EBay are under $100 but as they say you get what you pay for, but sometimes one gets lucky and finds a good set for cheap but I have to ask folks that drive 45s have any of you tried any of them and are any of these any good?
I would post something like this in the "Lights Section", but I want to hear from the 45 drivers that have the same electrical system as I. also what kind of problems and solutions may one have when installing on a FJ45?

LED HEDLIGHTS ON EBAY or?

Those exactly look very impressive, never seen them before. Do you get some good lighting distance in front of your 45 and brighter at night, more white? Thanks for that.

Funny you say that, I don’t run them due to looks either. I have a couple of different housings you can remove the H4 bulb from and add LEDs

I use the Stark LEDs of Amazon. They are $40 a pair.

Those Phillips and those housings you linked @c2dfj45 , is there a noticeable high beam? My Starks and aftermarket housings are nice and bright on low but in high they don’t do much more than low.

Mine on this truck are KC housings with Stark bulbs

I seem to recall having a set of non-US lights that sucked. Something wasn't right in the way they projected light. They were probably some euro 7" light I scavenged off something else......used to be hard to find lights to swap H4 bulbs into.

A long time ago I had a set of IPF headlights that were killer....used a set of PIAA bulbs as I recall along with a Painless Wiring headlight harness. Those were seriously bright lights. I would never turn on my aux lights off road when I ran that IPF setup. They looked really good to. They were insanely good.

Those Kyoto lights are really nice but spendy for sure. And yes, the Phillips LED has a noticeable change between high/low. Really pricey for bulbs. I like the idea of traditional looking lights but with LED light. Nice setup.

Maybe I'll go back to my Painless wiring headlight harness setup one day....

Love2fly,

I just put the lights in from cityracer. They are plug and play. I actually like the look of them on the truck and most importantly they work, really, really well. I can actually see what is 10 feet in front of me now. See pictures attached pictures. If you like the look I recommend buying them. I'm very happy.
