I have made these for a few local wheelers in my town of Colorado and years ago back east. I figured i would throw these on here to see if it was to your liking. Basically its a cooler rack that sits atop your existing spare tire. I purchased the cooler from Walmart so the accessability to this size cooler is simple. There is 1" space on all four sides to make it removing easyand accessible. The webbing is overkill for this application, but well deserved. It is as simple as set it on your spare tire, drape the webbing around your spare, and rachet down snug. Will not rotate or slip off the rear as there is a horizontal brace that hugs the back side of spare tire. Will sit tight on tire sizes from 31" - 37" and widths up to 14". Tire size in pic is 35/12.50/15. We also powdercoat any color of the spectrum or send to you raw and ready to paint. This color shown in pic is #660 a marbled dark grey.

For those worried about weight, it is a mere 22 lbs with an aluminum version weighing in at 13 lbs.....We are working on some attachments to house trail tools with pics by the middle of next week.

Just curious and it is somewhat difficult to tell from the photo. Is all the weight on the door hinges or is some of it distributed elsewhere?

Here are a few pics that may help you understand how it will keep from falling off.

The webbing and rachet have a breaking strength of 1500 for one, so two straps equate to 3000 breaking strength. The hooks are the least,rated at 500 each, so 1000lbs would be the breaking strength for this set-up.

When i have this cinched down into a tire inflated to 38psi, the rack will seat into the tire, with a slight dimple, giving you much confidence from unit falling off.

Can be used for anything really, multiple tie down points.

On my particular set-up, it all hinges on a 4x4labs spindle, locks with a De-Sta-Co locking clamp and an implement pin. (for overkill and peace of mind) Below are a few pics of carrier.

I wanted an easy way to carry a cooler on the trail, and a simple way to remove it.......Dont need a cooler? use it for a tent, trash containment, trail tool box or ........?....?

31" tires will fit, but i would suggest the aluminum rack to keep the weight off the oem carrier. Will have the price for Aluminum in the raw by tuesday, Thank you, Anthony

I like it! The only thing I might even think about doing different is to tweak the position or possibly put 2 braces in a "V" where the cooler drain is. This would allow for draining without removing the cooler. Not that serious of a deal, but convenience is all.

Thats been a campfire dispute since Coleman starting producing coolers. Ice cold water will keep everything colder than periodic draining. Keep the meats elevated on a rack inside cooler to keep from getting soaked.

OR

Run a 16" hose when ready to drain.

Personally,..I'll keep the water. 2cents
