My 2 cents.....buy your battery from Costco. The Costco batteries were rated very good by CR and their warranty is great, 3 years no questions asked, then pro rated after that. Also iirc there are few battery manufacturers anyway, they just rebadge the batteries . I think the big company is Johnson controls, who makes Interstate and Costco batteries, and many many more.

As info, we recently had a guy start working for us that used to deliver/ deal/ get all the know how on batteries. Discussing my pending purchase, he told me that Optima has already made plans to shut the Mexico plant and move all production back north to Washington, Yuma and a couple other facilities. To many customer complaints, Costco, Walmart and several others were apparently threatening to drop them totally. If you want an Optima and can hold out for a while, let them go through the current stock and get a new one in a few months. The DieHard Platinums are definately rebadged Odysses, not made by JCI. New one going in tomorrow, I opted for a bigger Group 65 since now and then I end up having to jump start V8's.

Holy chit will a G65 even fit in a 60/62's tray? Or am I totally out of my gourd here and it's actually smaller than a G34?

Sent from OBAMAPHONE!

If the tape measure is right it will fit. Its shorter but a little longer and wider. I opted for that as it, I think, will fit there more snugly and less chance for sliding around. It gives me 35 min more reserve time and a higher CCA. I'm working on a second battery spot and am moving my yellow top there.

retire that battery... to the garage..or recycle it...
get an Odyssey n move on...
I bought a second battery 2xtreme.... its an exact copy of the Odyssey but gives you 5 years on some sort of warranty...and it was about $100 cheaper than the Odyssey... we'll see how both batteries do down the road.........

Exactly! Everything i have heard is the Odyssey's are the way to go now. That being said, I have duel Optima Yellow Tops that are 6 years old (the USA Made ones), they are fantastic. I can run my stereo for 48 hrs while camping and she starts up every time. I had an red top in old my car that lasted 12 years. But from what I have heard about the new Optima's, avoid them.
