On the sides of my 78 FJ40 are decals that say Wolverine Four Wheel Drive. Anybody know what that was? It looks like they have been there since it was new. I tried searching and didn't find any info.
Thanks

there's a wolverine four wheelers in michigan (and has been for long enough that the sticker could have been there since new)

excerpt from their site:

We are a suburban Detroit-based club established in 1965. We currently have over twenty families involved, with members of all ages. We are a family-oriented club that enjoys trail riding, camping and other social events. The only qualification to join is to be interested in four-wheel drive vehicles. Activities we participate in include four-wheel outings most months, technical sessions and contributions to charity

(no affiliation)

and in there links page they have the TCLA

It was a conversion similar to a "pathfinder" conversion, prior to the first factory 4x4 pickup in 79. Don't remember who did that one, but doubtful it had anything to do with a 40. My guess is some sort of "pinstripes are us" funky tape kit like so many of the dealers stuck on mid 70's Fj40s

You can see it low in front of door opening.
