Not sure I would want to swap the storage aspect of the ashtray for some switches. I do wish I could lock it so prying eyes and sticky fingers were kept out. This little hideaway has been known to hide various after dinner entertainment supplies...

So mind has been changed on the Ashtray replacement. Too many people wanted too many options and honestly, machining all that would have made absolutely no sense. So instead there is going to be a universal mounting bracket and now several different mounting plates. So far one for Toyota switches and 1/4-20 mounting holes AND a Carling switch plate also with 1/4-20 mounting holes.

I’m currently 3D printing for testing but the production version is going to be CNC’d aluminum for strength.

That is a very good change. I would ask if you could maybe make the threads that mount the universal bracket to the plate 1/4 x 20 so we could just mount Ram Mount balls there? Or maybe add a third attachment point in the middle for another ball. I could have a use for that for a ham radio face plate, scanguage, etc, but no real need for a face plate for switches.
Thanks a ton for the work on this!

In Colorado, the ashtray is an indispensable tool for medicinal trail rides. Don't look at me that way, what?

Well version 1.0 is a bust. My measurements were a bit off and the faceplate sits out too far. Need it tucked in more then profiled a little better.

I’m also moving the switches closer together and just having one 1/4-20 thread to the right. Putting holes between the switches was dumb.

I’m likely in for a carling plate.

Any chance you could make a plate for a couple 2” gauges? Enough space? I’m thinking boost and water temp once my turbo kit is installed. ;)

Thats on the list but not too sure about the design of it. I have no shortage of 2" gauges to test with.

Looks like 4 Carling switches, and threaded holes centred vertically above the bottom holes could workholes to give max number of switches, plus 2 options for a ram mount?

I'd love to have 4 switch spaces available there

How about a base to flushmount a Scangauge or Ultragauge to? Out and angled towards the driver. Just tossing an idea out there.

It doesn’t look like there is enough room for 4 Carling switches. The threaded holes can’t be close to the switches because Carling switches sit above the plate. Toyota switches are more flush.

Is it going to hide the wiring? I’m liking what I’m seeing so far
