I am glad I decided to go the extra step of getting my downpipe and j-pipe ceramic coated. Ceramic coatng + blanket should for sure keep the heat inside the pipes.

Who did you use for your ceramic coating?

Just a heads up - the foil on that velcro heat insulation (AC line) doesn't last long before peeling off. The black DEI Fire Wrap is muy bueno

Who did you use for your ceramic coating?
I had Full Blown Coatings in Sandy, UT do my ceramic coating. They turned everything around in 1 week and were good to work with.

Joey, do you have an ETA on the down pipe blankets?
Could you start a list or make existing buyers a priority? If that matters of course, not sure what your initial run quantity will be.

Just another point of data, I have had my downpipe wrapped, it is in the same location and have never had the A/C issues. I wrapped my downpipe and put the heat wrap on day one and 4-5 years later things are still good.

On the road go #SEMA and the turbo test mule is hitting Halloran Summit hard at 90mph the entire grade WITHOUT hunting for gears and the temps never get over 199.4°F
Yes it’s 90 because it’s stock gears on 35s so gotta add 11% 😉

Definitely a few folks wondering what the hell was going on. The guy in the blacked out and lifted Sequoia relinquished the fast lane and looked puzzled.

they will be here at SEMA so I’ll find the status. I ordered a bunch so worries about a list nor priorities.

yeah my wife is driving this truck HARD heading to Vegas right now and there is no discernible heat other than the big compressor side of the turbo. All of the heat I was concerned out two days ago is completely gone.

Just stopped in Baker to get gas and popped the hood to check heat.

You need a thermal camera!

are you running the methanol injection? On my SC truck it really helps on steep grades at the higher end for sure.....

There aren’t many places to add in a water temp gauge sensor unless you get one of those silly in-line ones that forces you to chop your upper radiator hose in half. I shouldn’t make fun because I’m actually running one of those in my supercharged 80. But now with the turbo I wanted something more refined. So I went the same route that others before me have done: drill and tap the upper hose pipe for a 1/4”NPT. Now you can fit any sensor you want. I purchased a couple of the pipes and these will be made available with the port pre-tapped. A fixture was made so these can be drilled out quickly and easily.
