Wanted Windshield vent flap

Hi guys,

I'm trying to track down a windshield vent for my Cruiser. I primarily just need the larger, bottom piece with the eight threaded studs on the back side. Mine had too much rust to salvage and the studs broke right off.
If anyone has the complete flap with rubber and all I would take that as well, but really just need the lower. Thanks, Justin

Interested to see what you come up with. I have the same need and am thinking that having a body guy fab it up will be the quickest and cheapest. Or maybe not.

I was thinking the same. I have no
Fab skills so I would have to find a local metal fabricator to do it for me. Who knows what that would cost. Im trying to resist just tossing a later windshield frame on.

Keep me in loop too, I am also looking for a complete flap along with rear mechanism. Don't need rubber though.

I have a pretty solid one I would part with, but its the spot-welded, non-stud model.

Thanks for the reply Mark, I think I have a line on one with the studs that just needs some cleaning up. For the welded variety does a guy have to drill out the welds and re-weld after replacing the rubber?

This is how I did it on my two early '62 FJ40s.

I sent an email off to real steel cruiser parts today to see if they had any interest in fabbing up a new vent. No clue what the cost would be but their repro panels are reasonable so we shall see.
I will let y'all know if they get back to me for all of you how are looking for one also.

Did you ever find one? here is a pic of the 2 I have, 1 welded, 1 bolted, bolted 1 needs a new flap, the welded one is all good still.

3 puppies sold me the bolt on but he has a nice spot welded one I believe.

Thanks Justin, I am really after a bolted one flap but you are right even the welded one in the picture looks a lot better then the one I have now on my 25. I might consider that if thats the only option I got.
