Saw a YT vid this week and I’m intrigued. I have all new window runs, special dry lube and while much faster (dead of summer) than before, my windows are not what I would call “quick”. Especially if I’m trying to roll-up more than one at a time. I’ll have to see how they perform this winter.

This seems to be a good idea, but the comments are all over the place. Mainly because of the $295 price.

I’m the first guy to spend money for things others wouldn’t in the name of “I like to mess with my 80”, but don’t want to burn up my 30yo motors.

Anyone try this yet and can give a MUD review?

It replaces the POWER MAIN RELAY and smells like bullsh*t to me.
Replacing a 22amp relay "Using a 40 amp relay to pass the necessary current" is the part that smells to me.
The circuit is fed by a 30 amp fuse. Motors draw what the motors draw. While increasing the voltage will help, the rest of their statement is crap.

I wonder if it has a small 14v lithium battery in that module with a little charger? Then you could use the 30amp fuse still.
 
I saw the video on my feed this morning as well, which lead me here. I'd love to hear from someone who has it.
 
Guess I'll be the gunnie pig... mine is coming Saturday. my windows aren't super slow right now, with the warm weather, but all but halt in the winter and need help getting past about half way.

Austin is local to me and while I haven't met him, we've talked a bunch and a few of my friends have met him, seems like a pretty straight up dude, so don't think it's BS or a gimick...
 
It appears to be a 12V to 15V 30A DC to DC Step Up Regulator: Example $65.54

The extra $229 is for the bracket, relay, and relay extension.

Amps will stay the same, but voltage increases by a couple of volts = increased power. P = VI.

The moonroof is also powered by the Power Relay.

I mean, you could just install that Step Up Regulator earlier in the 30A FL POWER circuit, but other things will see the added voltage like the seat motors and door locks.

I honestly doubt a few extra volts will be an issue.

I mean, I might install it right at the battery for the 30A FL POWER circuit...
 
Hand cranks suck. Nothing appealing about having to stop the truck to stretch across the truck to roll a window up or down. Even slow, poorly working power windows are more convenient than that.

I daily a truck with hand cranks.
 
Purchased a kit this morning, will report back later. If I recall, I know that Icon offers the same kind of upgrade on their builds but I do wonder if what they do is completely different than this application wise.

This is a bigger issue for some than others, and where you live is a big part of that, lol.
 
Changing the window runs fixed all my slow window movement in any weather. They operate fine now and I don't feel they need extra speed. But it's cool someone is still making new things for these vehicles.

True,. There are reasons why i moved to California...for the weather. But i have taken my rigs to many cold places, over 5000 miles and my windows are slow, but , nothing we cannot deal with..

little rough when it's 10* out and the window won't go up unless you pull while rolling it up.

so if there's a solution... why not use it? there's plenty of things about this 30 y/o truck we endure because of it's age... but if it can be fixed... why not? if it's not worth the $ for you I get it... but it is for me.
