Hey there! I learned about the forum from traffic to our website. Your community is awesome at sharing tips, tricks and equipment info! Several of y'all have commented about our Pierce winches and how you like our worm gears because they are tough and you've received great customer service from us.

We'd like to send you FREE work gloves (keep those hands safe!) if you'd help us with this survey about your winch preferences. The survey is 7 questions and only takes 2 minutes.

Well, we are excited to get more involved on the forum and learn more about what you need. Reply to this thread if you don't want the gloves but want to share your thoughts about your winch.

Thanks and Happy 4th!
Tabitha

Took the survey, appreciate you sending gloves, went to your website and for the most part I like what I see, especially the 20K monster! Might want to get one of those for my F250 and camper - could help if it gets stuck
However, I don't like that the prices are not posted. Even though it's not the most important detail, it's still a factor in making a decision. Having to go through extra effort to get a price might turn some folks away before they get serious.

Multiple options would be nice on the survey, but I think I got my point across.

lol, I want a cattle siren :D

Question, where are the winches made? Parts made in China and assembled in Texas? Or?

Good, I was just about to report this...

cool that pierce is expanding their winches to ohv. dealt with pierce products when i worked on a cattle ranch a couple decades ago.

i also think multiple choice would be nice on the questionairre. i own four winches from three different manufacturers. also need a write in on brands since one brand i own isn't on the list (and there's three i can think of right off the bat that aren't on the list).

also, feel like i'm bashing on pierce winches in the first part, but i can only speak of the winches i know about and i can't comment on pierce or comeup since i don't have experience with their winches. my choice for worst value really isn't my choice since my write in would've been...so the survey really is quite skewed.

do the gloves come in small ;)

Yeah, I had the same problem. That and being forced to make only a single choice on some of the questions that could have multiple answers.

After Old Warn - Ramsey - Mile Marker and my Current Toyota winch and Superwinch I gotta tell the most important thing would me IMHO parts availability through the years ..

Winch is an item you don't replace ( or used to ) that often .. so 5 or 10 years down the road you would like to have parts list available to rebuild or repair your winch in case of failure..

just my .0002 cents ..

Hi all,

X 2 what David (aka Tapage) wrote! That is one of the major reasons why I am leery of the "house brand" electric recovery winches, that all seem to come from the same manufacturer in China. In 10 - 15 years I want to have parts & tech support available.

Regards,

Alan

Took the survey, thanks Tabitha! Is this part of the the "Pierce" that manufactures fire fighting aparatus?

@80t0ylc: Thank you for checking out our site. I need do need to update it with MSRP prices! Thanks for the recommendation. We don’t sell from the Pierce Arrow site but we do from our retail site, www.piercesales.com.

The gloves are one sized but I have small hands and use them in the yard ;-)

@skidplate: We are the Pierces in Henrietta, Texas and not affiliated with the fire engine manufacturer. They have cool products though!

Thanks everyone for your responses! They are very helpful. Sorry about the lack of multiple choice options – I’ll be sure to include that next time.

@Mace:
The Pierce PS654 winches are manufactured in China and assembled in Henrietta, Texas. The Pierce PS self recovery winches are manufactured in China. As a family-owned business, we deal with overseas manufactures that we consider friends, people that value quality, affordability and listen to our customer’s needs.

It’s important to stress the value of friendship when working with overseas companies. Jeff, my father-in-law and owner of Pierce, has spent decades cultivating relationships in the UK, China and Taiwan. Our UK /Taiwan friends are like family and our China friends are close.

I’ve worked for the company for 5 years and I’ve learned the value of purchasing from overseas when appropriate. We build what we can in the US – dump kits and bale spikes. The products we can’t afford to purchase the equipment or labor we deal with overseas friends who have ISO certified manufacturing facilities. Their working conditions and organization are incredible!

So, though ‘China’ has gotten a bad name in many markets we have built relationships with world class manufacturers who believe in our company and providing a quality product.

@Josie’sLandCruiser / @Tapage:

Our parts are sourced from many locations. A portion of our parts do come from China but some of them also come from machine shops 20 miles away from us in Wichita Falls, Texas. Regardless of where the part comes from, you are still getting a quality part, and a lifetime guarantee of great service. With Pierce, we don't buy from a cheap source just to cut costs.

P.S. thank you for all your comments. You guys are great!

My questions were not meant as a dig at all. China is a global manufacturer now a days and lots of good stuff is produced there :) QA/QC is the name of the game!

I need a small winch to be mounted on my flatbed trailer. I may give you guys a call!

@mace: Thanks! I'd don't see a Vegas distributor on the map - I'll double check on Monday and see if we have a dealer near you. You can always call or order through our retail site, www.piercesales.com. Hope we can help;-)
About China: I didn't think your question was dig - I wanted to give a longer answer in case someone goes on the forum looking for more info about Pierce. Hopefully it helps those who do feel negatively toward doing business overseas. Thanks for the question.

Tabitha, thanks for being interested in our opinions. I had never heard of Pierce Arrow before, getting your products into winch comparison articles would help guys like me find out more about your company.
Oops, i guess I have watched your youtube video on motor troubleshooting. I would like to see some extreme test videos if you are taking requests.
Good luck, I'm glad to see more choices out there.

@rybones: I'd love to get out of the office and get extreme footage in the field!Thank you for checking us out!
