Why do you love your 60?

I've loved my HJ60 since I bought it 4 years ago. I really loved it since I towed a 5000 lb trailer from coast to coast with my family, with 420,000kms on the truck. I loved the fact that I averaged 14 mpg(imp) with a 12,000 lb road train.
I love the fact that I get 26 mpg commuting to work.

I love my wifes HJ60 as well. Hers is in near perfect condition.

These trucks are indestructable. They certainly turn heads!

I love my 62 because of all the camping, fishing, outdoor trips I have had in it. I love being able to park on the rivers edge and all the other not worth a crap vehciles are up the road because they either could not make it down the road or did not want to get scratched. Besides its just a kick ass cool truck. I love the way it looks when I have both my whitewater kayaks on top strapped down.

I feel like I could do anything it this rig...

Its like a real good book... It will take you as far as you can imagine...

WAY HIGH on the COOL FACTOR...

I bought mine new for 17K in 87 and 240,000 miles later it still runs as good as ever and simply cannot be stopped or over worked. I've hauled backhoes, winched out loaded drywall delivery trucks, pulled down buildings, bull dogged through 3' snows and backroaded/offroaded everywhere and further. At 6'2 225 I'm always comfy, warm, and it always starts. I dig my manual choke too.

 I Can Pull Down Buildings??:grinpimp:

I love my new Cruiser because I finally got my dream vehicle. Ever since I have seen Michael Palin's "Pole to Pole" I wanted a Land Cruiser. Now I kick my ass not to save up and buy one earlier. Instead, I fooled around with several Land Rovers that got me so frustrated that I nearly got out of 4x4s completely.
Land Cruisers are the best vehicles that's why you see them EVERYWHERE on the planet. No Jeeps, no Chevys, no Land Rovers. If you want to drive around the world or just go get groceries, a Land Cruiser is the vehicle to do it with!

I love my 60 because it has everything you could want in a car. It's tough and reliable. It's rugged, roomy, and comfy. And it's just so stylish. You park it between a 45lv and an 80 or even a 100 and you can see the similar lines in all of them. It's retro chic.

After attending a wedding at a fancy schmancy hotel in Santa Monica, CA recently, my wife and I were waiting for the valet to bring the car. There was a line of people there. Most of the cars that were brought up before mine were new SUVs. Mercedes, Volvos, a Cayenne, etc. When my 60, which had just been detailed, pulled up, I was so proud, I felt like a million bucks. I would not trade that car for anything.

i hate my cruiser cause it gets crappy gas milage and is burning thru front tires has a crushed front fender, shakes, vibrates, leaks oil ALL the time, cant get out of its own way(unless going down hill)  :D ;p ;p

i love it cause it's paid for, hauls alot of junk, it's big and bad.my wife feel safe in it.it's paid for, i can do all my oun work on it, it's paid for,it's paid for,IT'S PAID FOR(did i mention it's paid for?)

AND.....................................................................

IT'S A CRUISER ;)

To paraphrase:

"The first rule of ownin' a 60? Love. You take a rig on the trail you don't love, she'll shake you sure as the turnin' of worlds. Love keeps her on the road when she oughtta break down, tells you she's hurtin 'fore she keens. Makes her a home."

I love my '60 because it's unstoppable...
because it growls when I step on the gas...
because it hauls all of my family and stuff on a trip...
because it tows my '40 when it craps out...
because it's wicked cool in a way new cars can't touch...
because it makes the morons in huge, jacked up chevys feel totally inadequate...
chevy owner -> :frown:
because chicks (including mine) dig it...

What he said... except for the towing my '40... I don't have one, but I want a 55. Perhaps I could tow that. And my 60 is a 61. I love it coz it's beast like.

I love my 60 because i grew up with her, because my dad owned brand new since 1982, because she took my mom to the hospital so i could get born!!!
because i always wanted since i was a little kid and she always was and will be the trck of my dreams!!,
beacause she took the family to all the vacation trips we wanted and also create some good memories with her...
because she is like a part of the family and a big part of my life...
because it's my first and wil be my last car.
because she is older than me and still runs like when my dad bought her 24 years ago.

can't say exactly why i love my cruiser cause i started to love her since i was a little kid like i said before.

I love mine cause I have had it since 96....Iy was my first 4wd and I have had several other cruisers in between but the 60 has out lived all of them...sold them and don't really regret doing it...The 60 for as much or a pain in my ass it has been the last cfuple of years I just get so excited to drive it when I can...

Sure hope all the work I have been doing pays off...

I love my truck cause it fears nothing, takes abuse with a smile and after I wash it down rides as if nothing had happened. Its an old model truck that is alway in fashion. I can beat the crap out of Nissan Patrols, Jeeps and Discoveries in 4x4 challanges and then go shopping. Hurrah!

i love mine cause i can hit stuff and it doesnt break...and cause people wont pull out infront of me. just before someone pulls out infront of me they think "judging by the looks of that guys truck...hes not afraid to hit me"...so it works out well

I'm just learning the waggy love, but its growing on me quick. I never considered a 60 series in the past, but saw a pic of Exiled's rig & got me thinking. After trying it out for size (I'm big) I dug it more. Then the wife liked it too, wanted one for herself and we bought a clean one. After a few weeks with the rig I like its inividuality apart from the Suburbans and Expeditions you see everywhere in SoCal. It seems built like a tank and I value the safety of my family, and its reputation for dependability is impressive, as I'd rather drive a rig then wrench on it - which is why I gave up Jeeps long ago. It just really seems to fit my family & our lifestyle well, we plan on owning it indefinitely.

Ode to a 62:

From the malarial jungles of French Guiana

To the acrid air of a Baghdad suburb,

Cousin to the wanderers, descended from ancient warriors,

Both friend and foe alike,

My 62

Crosses the flickering heat and

dust filled badlands of Kalifornia

2 meter whip slapping

the quarter,

the reassuring howl of the fan and

the familiar clunk of the driveline,

the endless thirst and the window clatter,

the old lady gets me home

everytime

and with a lurch she

takes a bow, and with a sigh she

diesels to a stop, and then again, stop,

and goes into a deep slumber, ticking, till the next clarion call,

Awake! Awake! Oh world-weary one! Again,

Take me where others fear to tread, with a mere

Turn of a worn key,

The world is again not enough.

THAT is GREAT!

another set of reasons

had a few months to think this over ... Why I love my 60 .. like someone said it's love .. It's love that makes me skin my knuckles and love that pushes the big mofo over mountains and across rivers .. and retreives JEEPS and FORDS from river when their drivers try to diss my beast...It's a hella of a rig , i've had mine built for about 1 1/2 years .. and my wife hated it till she rode in it ... then the smiles ... Now after tha last year of wheeling hard and heavy she wants me to get a 62 so she can drive it ... anyway ... the list is hundreads long , strength , beauty , raw girth the fact that it seems to run better when I sleep in it on long trips .. as many have said about her ... shes a tank a big brown growling urban death machine ... my neighbors hate it she's loud and ugly but then they ask me to pull them outta the ditch .......hers's a little pic http://www.supermotors.org/vehicles/registry/showmedia.php?id=329871
