Thanks for the pictures. Where did you get your clutch form and which was your AC problem?
just asking because my compressor make a knocking JUST when I start up the LC first time in the morning. I know it's the compressor or clutch pullet because I removed the belt.
Purchased the clutch from camelback Toyota online. $160.00
My problem initially was the bearing, but it ended up seizing and wearing down the nose of the actual compressor. New clutch didn't solve my problem, I'm now between selling my new clutch and buying a new compressor or trying to find a new compressor front cover to replace mine with.....will probably sell the clutch and buy a new compressor
Hey all, reviving this thread in hopes to get some advice. I've been having intermittent a/c issues and thought I'd identified it as a clutch issue vs a full compressor issue. When engaged the clutch would slip, causing the air to blow warm.
I replaced the clutch with a new Toyota OEM unit and all 3 belts while I was in there; everything seemed to go smoothly except for the life of me I can't get the ground screw broken loose on the compressor body.
Prior to drilling it out I just grounded the clutch to the compressor mount bolt to test it. I thought everything went great but then it started slipping again. With A/C on it will engage correctly and work, but again intermittently it disengages and the clutch stops spinning.
With A/C disengaged, some of the time the clutch turns slowly while the pulley spins - is this normal or is it a sign of a bad install somehow?
Also, if I'm still having the issue I'm thinking I was wrong and a I really need a whole new compressor?
