seat replacement - fj60

I used leather seats out of a 90ish Acura Legend. The are nice , power and did not need that much frame mod. The back seat fit perfect and looks good to. Great support for those long hard drives and keep you steady off roading.

If you can find them for cheap (very unlikely) earlier Saab 9000 Aero seats are REAL comfortable and a little bigger to fill the space in a 60. But as mentioned, side bolsters might make getting in an out difficult.

I used Mercedes E-Class 8 way power/heated in my FJ60. Front bracket holes lined up perfect, rears i had to fab some L brackets for. They were very nice....$50 from a junk yard.

stumper: got any pics of these? sounds right up my alley!

Has anybody run FZJ80 seats in a 60?

I put the front seats from an 80 into my 60. I just had to make 4 adapter plates to make the sliders from the 60 seats bolt to the 80 seats. The adapter was just a piece of 3x1/8x 15 steel plate that I drilled some holes in and cut some reliefs. All in all it was a   job

Still looking to find a way to put the 80 back seat in.

How did you do the wiring for power? Can you post pictures of the seats???

Looking for solutions to driving comfort, and only want to do it once time.

Hey Rob, What year Supra did those Seats come from?

sort of the same thread here...can or has anyone put a 62 series backseat into a 60?

i have not looked too closely or researched it, but i would like the backseat with the headrests. but i would also like to have the shoulder belts back there too.

anyone had any experience with this?

I just got a brilliant idea, and i would tell you, but i want to do it first and then post pictures to show it off. j/k, but here it is... i am planning on taking out the front two seats, center console, and maybe the rear heater that sits under the console. (if anyone needs a gray fj62 console and/ or the rear heater, pm me. just pic a price that is reasonable.) putting a bracket that will either be two seperate bracs with inner mounts for a better, locking, and higher (arm rest) console. or by building a brac that will span the front seat area, mounting seats, console, storage, and any other misc. crap that we cruiserheads deam neccessary, which will prove useful in that rare situation, but will forever be thankful to have that weird, not even really knowing what it is tool that somehow or another solves the 4 in the morning broken part when the last beer can had jsut hit the ground and the cigs ran out 20 attempts-to-fix-it ago. what do you think. i will try to post some sketches when i draw some out.

should be able to just swap the back part(with headrest) into you 60 or swap the whole seat.

or if you could find the split rear seats out of a upmarket non US 60-2 that would be sweet.

I see Spector has a front 60 bench seat......for some reason I want one ;) they also have 3rd row seats for 60/2 but in a US 60 the rear head room would SUCK!

split rear seats would be very kewl. don't know if i would be too keen on the front bench seat. i had a truck like that which was a standard transmission....no console to store anything plus no place to put my coffee! :D

Yeah & besides, I love my Tuffy Box too much to part with it...

i have the stock console on mine which is good enough for now, my coffee thermos fits in the square "cup holder", but i gotta upgrade at some point to the tuffy.

why does my list of mods and upgrades continue to grow and i continue to have no money to do them

The Tuffy box is the greatest mod. I'll be thanking the PO for that forever. He also put a 12 disk changer in there. It hasn't skipped yet, even off-road.

Not to mention the cup holders...

12 disk changer fit in the tuffy? is there still room in there for other stuff?

How much modification did the Supra seats require (or did they fit right in) ?

Mine is an '88...what year is yours?

Thanks...Mike Upton

Split Seats

you mean like these?

unfortunately, the fellow selling this hj60 here in Costa Rica is under the impression that it is worth about $12K. It is nice.... but not that nice! :)

...Define 'other stuff'...

I still have enough room to lock up my valuables. (Which I guess isn't much.) I'll post a pic if I remember. The tuffy is also the perfect place to mount my mag light. Now I just nreed a good place to mount the fire extinguisher.
