In my "I'm out" thread I found out that @Mtbcoach had served in the military. I thought it would cool to see boot camp or old photos from back in the day. Yes @erymer even the air force ;)

I upgraded to 2nd Class during Swim Qualification, but we didn't get a chance to try for 1st Class since so many folks failed. That's me up front.

It's like Maverick and Goose did an inter-service transfer.

Yep, my girls get quite a kick out of my pilot pics, dad was a legend in his own mind!......wife brought out that one a few years ago, luckily most are still boxed somewhere. Biggest regret was getting out right as Gulf War was starting....my platoon ended up being attached to the 101st Airborne for Desert Storm. Didn't see any action as the left flank covering force. One guy did tear up one of the OH-58-D's trying to land in a sand storm the first day of the ground war but they both walked away unscathed. One of our senior Warrant's was a former TF160th Little Bird pilot and I heard was cool as a cucumber during the deployment while another senior warrant freaked out and had to be sent home. Unfortunately after the "war" several in the platoon were passed over for promotions even after being awarded air medals and having combat time.....one warrant ended up taking his own life a year later.
