Thanks for the insight. I need to read the threads on rack bushing replacements, I have only scanned it. Why not just do bushings?

Looks like I can add door lock actuators to the things I need to replace. The switch moves, but the doors don't lock, unlock.

You can try the big D bushing on the passenger side first. It is easy to change out and typically where we see the most movement. In order to change out the smaller bushings on the passenger side you have to pull the entire rack. If you change out the bushings and the rack is still worn out and needs to be replaced, you are going to pay for the same labor twice or do it yourself twice. This is one of the hardest jobs to do on our trucks. I dreaded doing it myself and was planning on it being a two day job. Then I found out my mechanic only charged $300 to do it so I gladly let him have at it. Even when I called for a quote the first thing he said was "oh, this is an ugly one.....".

Thanks Mxn, sounds like a new rack is in order, and a bushing upgrade right from the get go. Did you order yours from American Toyota? I have a friend whos a mechanic and willing to help me with this. Do you recall what you paid for the rack.
 
Ill have to find the receipt. I got it through Beno. But Cdan at American can set you up or the guys at Lowe Toyota. Prices should be similar. Over the years Beno has been my go to guy. But, he is moving on to newer and better opportunities.

When they back on my pc. I will give you the link for the bushings and other contacts.
 
FWIW, Sam at Lowe Toyota has been terrific. He actually answers his phone, knows the 100 series well, and turns orders around quickly.
Delivery is extra quick for us East Coast guys.

I'm waiting on my Super Pro bushings now. They are $97 shipped. A nib OEM rack is running me about $550 (part only). We have a great dealership in Phx. that gives great pricing.

are you going to do the install, or Camelback, or ? This is in my not-too-distant future...
 
2006 with 58,000 miles. What? Doesn't count? Yeah... but it squeaks and rattles like it's got 258,000 miles.
 
Still rolling them up....did replace the radiator last night though. Still, I've done many more repairs to vehicles with FAR less miles.

New guy. 161k on my 98 LX. No problems to speak of other than O2 sensors. (knocking on wood). Paint is etched and looks crappy. Dinged up and muddy as it's relegated to hunting and hauling duties.

Brakes are spongy and my tires have dry rot. Bought it in '03 with 80k miles on it. Replaced timing belt at 88k, which I suppose it's due for soon. Want bigger than OEM tires and all the slee goodies. Also want to build a storage shelf in the back with sliding drawers.
 
2007 LC100 24v 6 cylinder Turbo Diesel with intercooler 150 kW with 288k, PO's kids climbed a fallen tree trunk and damaged the transfer box, he replaced & repaired, so now I have a spare Tbox. Also replaced the windscreen just before I bought it.

Issues to date, 258k to 288k...

Squeaky belts : replaced
Speedo dying : tightened a loose wire
Bumper fog light not working : replaced bulb
Turbo worn from very fine dust mixing with oil : need to replace garret turbo & flush inter cooler & install snorkel to prevent same happening
Slow punctures on highway tyres from climbing granite mountains(my bad, not gonna let a small thing like that stop the fun) : replaced 265/65-17's with 285/65-17's (came with purchase, also HT's)
Clunk when going from R to D
Messed with perfectly good AHC by replacing working but dented dampers, killed the AHC pump, replaced pump, all good
Bought a 6th matching rim for the Kaymar IFS 6th wheel mount & spare tyre I have

None of these are big issues, except the clunk, I have read a few threads and it looks like I need to grease the driveshaft & a few other places, any input is greatly appreciated

Inside is clean... Relatively speaking, was clean, my kids make the seat covers dirty very quickly, but prefer the canvas covers to the leather in the summer

Engine bay is clean, only grease & dirt on drive shaft , noticed when changing dampers

Winch works great, has helped me out of hard situation, only issue is leaving car in R because i was focussed on winch and having to run after cruiser before it drove through a wall

No rust to speak of, in Zim, and when we travel to the sea she gets a good clean

I have 230k and replaced my radiator at about 226k, now I get the best mileage ever! I'm curious to see if you notice a difference....

No I'm not high, but I get another 50 miles per tank now and I'm running my RTT full time since then and it makes no sense.

.....? Now I'm wondering. My temps are high and MPG's low. New radiator?
 
My temps weren't high, I was just seeping from the bottom and loosing 1qt every month or so. It was out first trip with the RTT and putting on 1k miles and wanted no issues, so I replaced it.

Nothing more or less.

Dead honest, as my girl laughs as the more s*** I bolt to my roof the better mileage I get.

Go "all the way" and replace the FAN BRACKET with a timing belt, water pump, tensioner service on engines with over 200,000 miles.
