Whistle sound from rear -- heard it with the back open.

I recently had some furniture in the back of the 80 and had the back window open/up to fit everything.

I noticed when i stepped on the gas, a whistle noise started from what seemed could be the exhaust? The noise stopped when i got off the gas, or gently pressed the gas, but came back on a heavey press of the throttle.

This weekend I'll get someone to drive while i sit in the back and try to hear eggsactly where its coming from -- in the meantime, does anyone have a suggestion of what could be causing this noise? I think it might be an exhaust leak? Could it be anything else?

Its not really causing any issues but i'm a PM lunatic

hey yeah i know exactly what your talking about. my does that too. i think it might be a with a lot of 80's cause my friends does it too. or i could be a leak or a pinch. i bent my exhaust offroadin and i think that might have something to do with it.

mine does it also, IIRC someone tracked it down to the muffler (not the resonator) by replacing parts,

yeah what a lot of people do is just replace the exhaust system if it really bothers them with a borla aftermarket. it makes it a low rumple instead of a whistle.
