Hey I bought Alans last rig and I wheeled with him at Moab with this new 100 and we kicked some jeep @#$%$#@ at the jamboree. The truck wasn't even close to being finished and Alan drove it over every extra credit he could find to try and break something and it just kept going strong. I may just buy this one to (for the wife) as I am extremely wealthy. O K just kidding but if someone doesn't snap it up soon I'm going to sell it up in Canada...bill ::) :slap:

The more I fix on my 91 the more I am convinced that the performance and speed issues are due to needed repairs or optimizations.

I can gun my 91 now and it takes off (granted, not like a 1FZ). I can maintain 75-80mph up grades with 32s and stock gearing, even with the lift.

If I were looking for a dedicated wheeler the 91-92 route is very tempting given the pricing these days. Pay a little, plop in an aussie in the rear and an ARB up front and you are good to go.

Not to mention the ease in wrenching.

This is all relative anyway...you love what you have, you love what you want!

To add to the tranny discussion:

The best LC is the 97 model with !! the A442F Tranny, like mine.

Top of the range for bad roads.

The only bad thing on 97 models: poor radiators and cooling system ! >:(

It needs more than Landtank to scare me off. I still cary the baseball bat. But seriously, I worked for a longer period in a neighbouring country and had no access to my computer. Now, I am back.

Thanks for your concern !!

great -- welcome back!!

:)

I got a '91 since you were last on -- I think -- love the 3FE --

Congrats to the purchase, Eric !!

Maybe I will get a 92 with cloth seats and in red too. I would use it toplay around a bit. The price is okay but I have to check the engine.

My 97 gave me a bit of headache with the radiator. I think you saw my remarks in the other post. Surely the cooling system of a 97 isn't the best. My radiator cracked between the plastic top part and the aluminium. No fix >:(. I had to order a complete new one from Taiwan because no stock here. So my cruiser was lying iddle for two months (time to get the radiator spare from Taiwan). Now everything is okay, except for a small hose pipe. A new order and another waiting period of one month. But the LC is running fine. At least !! Or at Last !!

Hey Mike, 2 months for a radiator, what's up with that? Are they that scarce over there not to have proper support for the vehicle or is the wharehouses stocked to the rafters with cool boxes and curtains with no room for the important stuff.

:whoops:

I really missed you and Beo. :flipoff2:

I am staying in the third largest city in Thailand and we have only three Landcruisers here. In the capital Bangkok it will be maybe a hundred or soo. So, no Toyota dealer will stock parts for the 80. Maybe for the 100. I don't know.

Anyway, thanks for your usual welcome

Thread hijack: AsiaMike! Welcome back! You never posted the pics of your rear A/C vents + controls I asked for months ago! I'd appreciate it if you could post those soon.

Yeah! Welcome back Asiarider! :flipoff2: :D

Okay, I will try to find them and post them soon.

Thanks for the welcome.

Beo,

Mike is it and not Mikey or I will have to use my cricket bat to destroy your panic button.

Mike

Mikey,

Rule #5. Never let anyone know that being called Mikey gets under your skin.

Do as you wish with the Panic Button but the Global Destruct Button is mine and mine alone. Woody gave me the power well over a year ago and I shall not relinquish it without a fight.

LOL, Rule #5 is oh so VERY true.

Mikey...hehe, that's cute.

Mike, we want to know why you disappeared, too, well at least if it has something to do with your rig...
Did you get thrown in jail cuz of your :princess: curtains? :D
E

I do however prefer AssRider

Landtank, you are so kind :slap:

Did you get thrown in jail cuz of your curtains?

Eric, since I stay in a kingdom you can not be thrown in jail if you are a princess :princess:

I worked for two months in Malaysia and had no access to my computer and my cruiser was parked at home. Anyway I was so busy that I even forgot Landtank.

I think Assrider should be used in another forum :D
