. . .and what did you do to get it?

Due to differences in gearing, tire size, etc. . ., and engine (F, 2F, Detroit V8, etc. . .) no manufacturers seem wiling to attach a number to what their overdrives, rings + pinions, fuel injection, etc. . .will actually do for you.

This makes it darned hard for the cash-strapped among us to decide if a specific modification is worth the effort.

So:

What's your motor?
What's your tires?
What's your MPG pre-mod?
What's your mods?
What's your MPG post-mod?

2F, H42, Rock Box, 3:1 Orion, 4:11's with Detroit in the rear and ARB up front rolling on 38's.

On the trail it is about, well it really depends on the trail.

On the highway doing the speed limit with the top on and the windsheild up I get about 9mpg.

when I was rolling on 37s I drove to moab and got 14mpg. This is with a HIGH milage F sm420 and 4.11s

edit: with a webber 38

4 speed

13-15 mpg

gas milage

1974 fj40 stock w/30" tires.....one thing i learned real quick, aALWAYS TURN YOR RIG OF WHEN FILLING UP....it burns it faster than you can pump it in !!!!! :crybaby:

2F

I went from 30 inch tires to 33s and then 35s.

My mileage on the highway varies between 11-15 MPG, before and after the mods.

The mileage depends mostly on which way the wind is blowing, how fast I am driving and whether I slip stream big rigs or not.
