Dam!!! A paint booth. Would love to have one of those :)

not this one, you wouldn’t have been able to fit a land cruiser inside it. Maybe a completely stock 60, but you wouldn’t be able to paint a roof with how low the ceiling is

Nearing the end on Tom’s 40 build. At least for this phase anyways. Got the FJ60 rear axle installed and we decided to flip the rear springs and extend the wheelbase a few inches. Time to chop chop

Also picked up a few more new (to me) tools this weekend. Another big welder, bandsaw, and a transmission flush machine.

All great deals too.
:)

I have been collecting hard parts (knuckles, arms, hubs) for awhile now. If anyone needs a disc conversion for their 40 I have what you need in stock 😎

I don’t have a ton of time to document every job that gets done on here but I do like to post what’s going on so I’m just going to do a photo dump of the highlights from the last few months.

My 60 series LS swap mount kit has been selling nicely as well. I have sold around 20 sets since February. I also sell a bracket to use the stock FJ62 T-case shifter linkage with a 4L60.
I am also now selling H55f’s if anyone in the Central Florida area is interested in buying one, by ordering through me you can save yourself a $200 freight charge.

This weekend is paint session #1.
Holy crap this is a lot of work. Still have about 30% of ceiling and the exterior upper walls to do, got as much done as i could with the roller on the ground while the sprayer and scissor lift were working on the ceiling.
It should be finished up by next weekend hopefully.

Ended up finishing up the ceiling solo on Sunday. Also went up in the roof with the sprayer and knocked out the small south wall section. Got started on the offices last night, gotta get rid of that horrible 90’s green. Just have to finish up the north and east exterior walls and the rest of the office and paint is pretty much finished.

Painting this ceiling was a absolutely huge job. The ceiling alone took about 35 gallons of paint. Even though the floor space is 2k sq ft, the ceiling is really about 6k because of the way it’s shaped. It was worth it though and the difference is going to be incredible once the lighting is installed. It’s going to be super bright.

Most cruiser shops are dark caves. Not this one

More progress this weekend. Front exterior paint finished.
Got all the lighting fixtures removed from the old paint booth (future machine shop), and hosed the place out.
last and most importantly, we have shop lighting!! :bounce: there’s still three more fixtures to go in, and they’re all just zip tied to the conduit we ran close to where theyll be permanently so the scattered placement will get cleaned up over time.

lastly. This corner of my yard has this grass/dirt patch that i now know is actually the drain field for my septic system I was REALLY wanting to pour like 8” concrete here and put a 12k lift. :bang: Does anyone have any ideas for what I can do or experience with this kind of thing?

Is there a city connection option? Maybe they will work with you as every city in Florida is clamoring to get people OFF septic systems. Call or stop by anonymously of course😏

If that’s the drain field is the tank covered? Is that what the man hole open is for?

Think it over before you inquire about sewer hook up. Septic at my shop was unknown to the county for many years. They found out about it last year. Had to have it inspected, permitted and licensed. Now I have to pay the county $300 fee every year to get licensed renewed. Cheaper than the alternative of paying $15K to get sewer lines put in.

Being able to that backfill that space and put another lift is worth 15k to me in the long run. The main shop interior is not nearly as big as it looks in pictures. It’s only 12.5’ foot ceiling. That means I can only fit the lowest available 2-post lifts inside.
I am planning on using that back outdoor area a lot. Wide open space for bending roll cage main hoops, 12k lift that goes up high for working on trucks with taller roof racks or working on the tow rigs, building buggies, etc. it will be nice once i build the canopy over it.
Having half of it grass completely kills it as usable area and I want to get as much out of the property as I can.

They may have an amnesty period now and or some type of perk for connecting. Be sure you ask. It may have been offered to surrounding neighbors. I’m facing a similar issue with a residential lot.

Anyone thinking about a 105 steering upgrade on their 80? I’ve got a 80 box here with a twisted sector shaft, and would be happy to rebuild it with a 105 upgrade and do a core exchange.

Picked up the new shop runner today. Thanks again @SFROMAN for the sweet 71.
there’s also a rolling chassis available if anyone needs anything.
