However, my message about the way you come off stil stands. I am curious why you think your an expert on comparing an 80 vs the IFS in an FJ Cruiser. I understand you have experiance with the FJ. I know just about everyone on the FJ Cruiser team and several of them really like the ATRAC and don't even use the locker. Some of them own 80's and I have talked with them about this subject.

Nobody was comparing and 80 SFA to an FJ IFS. Here is my original comment:
Stating my opinion of ATRAC equipped 100 series versus a Locked front/rear 80. In my opinion, ATRAC has certain advantages in certain situations over locked fr/rr differentals. I often don't bother with the rear locker in the new FJ because the ATRAC works better in more situations. I have found this to be true in both of my Rover vehicles as well with traction control.
As well, both the Range Rover, and the Discovery have SFA, and I distinguish no difference in the way I wheel them versus my IFS FJ.

You're right, my experience with ATRAC is in an FJ, not a 100 series. I assumed they are the same. If that is not true, I stand corrected.

A range rover, a discovery, a new fj, a fj40..... I got caught looking at 80's on ePray last night and was threatened by my wife
I've wheeled with enough FJC's to know that they are not as capable as a triple-locked 80 series.
I've been wheeling with FJC's since they came out and was at many of the early trail rides with the Trail Teams in early 06.
Personally, I've always thought the driver was the most important element as to whether a truck is capable or not. One of our local club members has a 40 that will blow away most of the "hardcore" rigs out there...David can handle anything in his pretty much stock 40. There is a 40 driver out east who's 40 on 33's pretty much out performs most rigs at Paragon/Rauch Creek...
In general, it's not about lockers or cool brake control units that modulate wheel spin, it's about the person behind the wheel that makes a vehicle capable or not.

Again, this is your opinion. The driver has about 95% to do with how ANY rig performs off road. These sort of pissing contests get old. There are people who think that anything that isn't a 40 is crap, or is not a real Land Cruiser. There are people who think that 80's are the bomb, and nothing else compares, especially IFS vehicles to the SFA. All BS in my opinion.
