I have a 1977 Fj40 and i am having a small problem at idle. What carb is this? I took the carb off to try and clean it. Any tips on what to take apart and what to clean ect.....

Weber 33/36 or a similar variant most likely.

Looks more like a 38/38 to me--the top half is just an air filter adapter, btw. I'm not sure if Weber actually makes/made the adapters, but there seem to be a lot of different adapters out there on the market. In my experience, you usually by the carb and the adapter seperately unless you are buying a kit of some sort that was put together for a specific vehicle.

Better eyes than I have. lol

Doesn't it have a stamping on the outside of the base opposite the choke?

micrometer the opening ... that will tell you for sure

Either way if 32/36 or even 34/36 it's too small for a Cruiser 6

There is a filter under the big brass nut where the fuel inlet is if your having idle issues that could have crap in it

Stills would be better than video, well, for me anyway--takes 30 minutes to download a 1:45 minute video on this side of the world. Anyway, I now agree that it is not a 38. But it still doesn't look like a 32/36 to me...
