I have a Weber 38/38 and the gas line inlet is on the driver’s side. I would like to move the gas line to the passenger side closer to the valve cover so the line is shorter and straighter to the fuel pump. Can I simply unscrew the cap and flip the fuel line with the barb to the other side and the cap to the driver’s side?

I cant recall ever doing this .... however your spaniard weber 38 has the screw in bung and plug... so i am assuming yes

many webers are a press-on bung and other side is blank that would need to be drilled

I have mine as a metal fuel line going to the weber... imho you should get a metal line as well (bend it yourself type) ... rubber line over exhaust manifold is not great :meh:

I googled weber 38/38 looking for a schematic. Even the weber site didn't have anything that looked like yours.

I'm guessing the fuel hose is the 1/2 OD line in the back not the big "water hose in the front"

I agree with the hard line. My fuel line has a heat sleeve over the header and manifold but I pulled it back for the portrait. I will move to hardline eventually. The fuel line is a 7mm line (1/4”) just looks big in the photo. I replaced the previous Weber imitation to this new real Spaniard Weber. I believe in the US only Redline provides the Weber. I also did a search for switching the fuel line to the other side but batted zero.

There are a lot of different models, my former Weber does not. As above, I would assume so; and I would just unscrew and check it out; there should not be anything surprising as there is not “another function” for that location. Give it a go!!

carbs unlimited is also a weber place... they get conversion kits and manifolds from redline but they import Spanish webers themselves ( or used to) ... a friend used to work for them for MANY years... they and pegasis and pierce used to be my goto for weber parts
