Thanks always wondered what it was, I would have thought it was lower than that! I knew there was a reason why I always stall out![]()
I'm no Math or Crawl ratio wizard but I own a calculator
6.55x2.313x4.88=73.9
LOL.
242:1

I'm at 200:1 and VERY rarely use it. Most of the time I use the 80:1 ratio.
not one uping at all this was the info i was looking for, how did you figure the 350? i would love to run a th350 to 203 with cruiser case in my 45 then i could take my current setup and install it in the wifes rig. i have the th350 and 203 alreadyWhen I was building my 40, the cost of adding a NP203 doubler was about $350. In the grand scheme of what I was building SBC350/700R4 with a 3 speed Tcase, it was worth it. With my 4.88s I'm at 148:1. I'm not trying to one up y'all but trying to bring attention to that if you going to do something major like this research and cost out what it would take then make the decision. I do not use stupid low much. But do use the splitter and 4H a lot.
x2. I ran a 4.0 in a toybox to my splitcase with a th350 and there was really no good reason to shift into stupid low other than to aggravate the people following me.double your crawl ratio with an auto..
60:1 is a good ratio for an auto.
so its turned in to a pissing match for who has more crawl ratio![]()

I got the 203 cheap then ordered the shafts and gaskets from AA. All you need is the shaft from the 203 to TC case and adapter plate. Advance Adapters has a kit.
wierd, i looked and couldnt find it, would be a cool way to get 4 to one though
Try giving them a call to see what's up. Maybe they are doing a redesign or something or even discontinued. I hope not.
Really? Glondark, BryanD, etc none of those guys has ever had an LC with an SM420? Maybe Rockape knows someone who knows someone. It's worth asking IMHO. The SM420 is a popular transmission for a lot of trucks.
You would probably be okay on the DL's as long as you keep it SUA. SOA and your probably looking at new DL's no matter what drive train you go with. You could fab the front DL out of two pieces of square tube at home. I know one guy who runs that way, it works well as long as you don't go fast in 4WD.![]()
