What is the value of a rust free FJ60 "shell"?

If you swing back the other way and decide to sell/trade I would be very interested. I have Dana 60 fronts, tires, all kinds of stuff for your 40 build I would trade. My number is 810-614-8038 Keith

If you're selling the body and frame together, then it should also have a title. Is there a clean title in your name?

If not, less than $1000. If there is, then ~$2000 for both would be a good price.

I'm in Knoxville. What would you ask for the rain gutter trim and rocker panel trim?

Harvested the rear for Molly's FJ40

You know what? I really want to hate on you for doing this to a Land Cruiser, but it is unique. I can kind of see this being a different hot rod. Pity you're in the wrong part of the country to build a surf wagon.

Go to Pull a Part. They have a 60 that as of today still has the chrome trim around the drip rail.

Flipper- way cool! And I agree with your past post here, it's not worth rebuilding SBCs any longer. I can get a crate engine for less than the parts cost! With a warranty!

Keep building, that looks like fun!

I thought you were just joking! WTF I am calling Tokyo an filing a formal complaint with the LCP (Land Cruiser Police).

Even after I robbed the 4x4 stuff for the FJ40 project, what was left was still too nice of a car project to let go for $1000-1500. $300 worth of jag parts and it is a legitimate project again.

I am liking it, a lot. A buddy is on the fence on doing similar with a 55. 4" chop on the top and possible section. I agree that at this point, messing with a SMC is not economically sound. The availability of LSX based motors has pretty much made the carbed SBC a nostalgia only choice of power plant. Building the kind of HP and TQ that a 5.3 or 6.0L Vortec puts out stock with a carbed SBC would cost far more.

Spark it or park it bro!
I'll always have a soft spot for anything that lays body.

I really think it has the potential to be cool as a hot rod.

I concur. If it were me, I would tuck the bumpers and shave the headlight washers and side marker lights.

BTW, I hate you for having that suspension. I've been trying to find Jag IFS and IRS for the '53 F-100 I'm building. We have a couple '88 XJ-6s at the junkyard I work at; I'm hoping their similar enough to be able to make work.

Please stop posting pix of this horrible fate the FJ60 is heading towards, its torture...and a shame to see such a clean body heading towards such a horrible fate.

If I remember correctly 74-87 XJ cars are similar. V12 cars have heavier springs and a posi-traction rear dif. XJS cars are the same as XJ12.

88-up stuff has prettier a-arms on the front, but I am not sure if it will work the same. I think the rear is less desirable after 88

I would have opposed at first, but seeing it convinces me that this is a good idea, since you were taking the axles anyways.

What are you doing for the front suspension?

Nice, now you also need to chop the roof a bit

You are correct, sir. The '88+ suspension might work. I've seen conflicting accounts, but I think I can do it.

Alright hate to admit it but being an old hotrod guy myself I can kinda see this too. If you keep the paint stockish and tasteful I bet it will have a sweet look...ala surf wagon like others stated. And this kind of rig needs a cool motor, something unique. Don't be a sheep and go the Chevy V8 route.

Twin turbo supra motor could be cool...
