The wheels I'm getting from discount tire $120/wheel.

yah body chop seems a little heavy for me. I'm hoping I wont need to get that crazy. I called a local fab guy about making some sliders for me and he said the Metal tech ones are a great price, that settles that. I was hoping to get around the $180 shipping. My total package including shipping and raw sliders is $1600. I'm having them completely assemble the front coils with new bushings and top plates so I can just pop them in.

its not a matter of if the wheels will fit... both of those wheels would fit... the bigger issue you are going to have to deal with is the alignment issues. after you lift your camber and caster will be off, and you will both rub and wear your tires funny until you correct that. the SPC UCA arms will allow you to correct that, and adjust how you want or needed to get the proper alignment so the wheels and tires fit with no major issues.

if it was me i would not put $1000+ worth of tires on my truck with a bad caster and camber issue, you are gonna chew through those tires and the tire shop will not honor any mileage warranty because your trucks alignment will visually be off. so in essence you are just throwing away $1000, when $360-400 would save you and make everything right.

fyi there are a couple guys running that wheel, here is one...
'05 GX470 "build"...

maybe I could just put the lift on first with out rims and tires and see what the alignment looks like, if it's way off I will order UCA's.

im not sure your stock tires and wheels will fit with the stock UCA pushed that far down... the stock wheel offset is enough that it would put the UCA into the tire with that much lift

Sierra Expeditions has Light Racing UCA's for 377 bucks. Pretty cheap in the big scheme of things. MetalTech will price match, too.

You can find them on Amazon and EBay for less

what UCAs will fit? taco, fj, 4runner? My budget is already blown up I just don't want to spend another $400+ on UCA's.

"$400 on UCA's is a good investment of you are investing $1000+ on tires... Coming from an alignment tech "
:(

They're $420 on Amazon. I see $363 on eBay, but for an extra $14 I don't mind going to MetalTech.

Ok so you guys freaked me out about this whole upper control arm drama. So I canceled the OPOR sliders and am going to get the light racing UCA's. I will just get the sliders another day, maybe I will just fab my own...

Good idea!!! From what I have read about your application of this vehicle you do not NEED sliders but you do NEED UCAs.

My first off road experience in the GX. I took it hunting. I killed a doe and stuffed it in the rocket box! Worked great. I just love this thing! super smooth off road sounds awesome!

Budget and GX rarely go together in the end. Get patient, save up, and do it right! Just hunting, etc you can take her stock and wont have an issue.
