If you have the money, it can be done! But really, do some searches on current 4runner and Taco lift options, they will be close or the same as the FJ Cruiser.

Why would you want to buy a brand new vehicle and SAS it? $25k+ for the vehicle and tear it apart and "redesign" the front suspension or use one from an 80. What axle would you use, an 80?

Money is better spent on an 80 and addressing it's short coming like chopping the overhang, al a Slee's short bus, or getting sliders.

It makes me laugh when I see X-terra owners SAS their trucks with a Jeep front axle and leaf springs. Just sell it and buy a SFA truck (land cruiser, samurai, jeep, G-wagen :grinpimp: ), or get a coil over kit from Calmini.

Old Man Emu and more

I know for a fact that there will be Old Man Emu suspension for it by early to mid 2006. And almost sixty companies showed up for the Toyota-sponsored measuring day.

for what it's worth

Technical guy told me the OME truck stuff is identical. Drop
right in. He said that would run 33s with no rub.
He said he didn't think an a oem front lock would ever be offered.. He also said...
no problem. ARB locker for truck is identical. Drop in.
Toyota flew him in for questioning by the quests and he said just that to me.

Funny thing in one of my convesations with one of the Toyota reps. They had a meeting with the Japanese asking about upgrade availability. The question of a Front locker came up. The Japanese responded by saying (in a very Japanese dialect) "ARB very good, very good".
