I am doing a frame off restoration of my FJ40. I am looking at the firewall with all the holes. For those who have restored the 40's, what holes are safe to fill. I am using a drive by wire 5.3 vortec, so I know I can fill the old peddle holes. Any others?

Here is a picture to help

not too sure if there is any that can be filled if you ar doing a full resto, as far as the dash goes their is a few extra holes their

Kinda depends upon what you want the end result to be...

Do you want an "old cruiser look"?? or you don't care and just want to know what's left??
What will you need?
Lights - Driving, Fog, Overhead?
Winch - In/Out, Power
Wiper -
Heat -
Hazard -
Fresh air -
Lighter -
...

Did you take any pics before breakin it down or did you buy the rig apart??

Good luck to you.
Here are some pix.

WOW. I would love my inerior to end up that nice. I tore it down and did take pictures. I am mostly thinking of the firewall holes. Although some of my pull switches are broken, so I will need to replace them.

I would like to keep a semi stock look. I am thinking of using the majave heater/ac unit, so I would think I could fill the large sqaures where the factory blower was mounted.

Is there a site where I could buy new pull switches?

its ok dan.... yea probably a sock....or two...and a cig

What exactly is a "majave heater/AC unit"?
