I want to hear what you guys have for tires on your 40s. All Terrains? Mud Terrains? Crawlers? 30 year old Armstrongs? Some generic farm tire? What do you got? Feel free to post pics. I have a thing for tires. It's kind of a fetish. ;)

Well for me, I needed a good AT that was quiet and handled good on a DD. I chose the Good Year Wrangler with Silent Armor. Just as good off road as a BFG AT KO, but a lot better on the road.

bfg at's for my dd. whats wrong with them on the road?

Nothing wrong with them. Just that the BFGs were noisier and didn't last nearly as long, and the Wranglers have a better feel on the road. The down side to the Wranglers is that they like to collect pebbles.

I have ran Km's forever and once got a bright idea to try all terrains due to warranty and I didnt think they handled as well on the road. I also didnt find them (on mine) to last any longer than the KM's. I did find that i had to slow the heck down on slick muddy roads for the all terrains wanted to keep going rather than turn. Just my two cents. Oh and my opinion is my vehicles looked 100 times better to me with KM's

Oh i did have to use the warranty once and i was pretty glad i had all terrains that day!!!!!

My issue with A/T's is they don't like wet pavement, the other day I was going down a steep paved road in the rain I started braking and before I knew it I was sliding down the hill, this is not the first time this has happened in the rain I have had similar experiences with my others Cruisers shoed with A/Ts,I used to have M&S in the past and prefered them better not sure if they still make them.

Mud Cat All Terrain 31 X 10.5's (Les Schwaab tires)

35" Krawlers, quite possible the best tire size for a sua 40

Sounds like you need pictures to "seal the deal". Personally, I don't find tires very sexy, but hey, who am I to comment on someones fetish. Atleast you're not asking for pictures of 400 lb. Russian women in high heels stomping bunnies. Enjoy. 33x9.5x15 BFG KO.

31x9.50 TSLs on steelies.....perfect look....

My tire of choice are Goodyear MT/Rs. I run 35x12.50s. Not the best for mud, but on the rocks they are great. Wear well, too.

Rough Riders baby.....Price was right- Being new to 4WD of any kind I'm a novice when it comes to tires.....It would have been hard to make an educated decision...

My thinking is that when the Rough Riders wear out I'll have seen plenty of pics of other peoples rides, read plenty about tires, and developed my likes/dislikes so I can choose (hopefully without regret).....An educated decision so to speak....
