I am new to this forum (read: serial lurker) as I just got my Freeborn Red 77 FJ40 off eBay about a month ago. Last week I was fortunate enough to drive down to see Jim C. (FJ40JIM) who lives only a half hour away. I spent a few fun hours in the shop with him going over the cruiser and fixing a few minor items (electricals, hoses, etc). He gave me a short list of other fixes we are going to tackle in the next few weeks. Great to learn a few things from the guru and he is a great guy too.

Hi All:

Nice front wheel droop!

That's pretty darn good for a SUA set-up! Care to share your secrets?

Regards,

Alan

Got pulled out the same way I came in...from the rear. Then gave her a bath in the river. Didn't break anything, but sure was a great pic. Alot of the guys at the Toys 4 Tots run commented that they had been there before. It was a great weekend to wheel. That blue is my fav color too. Thanks.

New intake on the '76. It sure runs a lot better now that it isn't sucking air.

Welded in fender wells that have been driving me crazy for years. Still working on my springs but it will now fit in my garage. For the record I'm glad I have no more quarter/fenders to fix. Fabbing these with the lip was a lot of work(I'm getting better). I just rattle canned new metal for now will touch up soon.

Replacing bead lock bolts. Had to drill out 11 because the pin head that mounted my tires obviously used a worn wrench to tighten them. Had to break one tire down to locate a leak and :censor::bang: Installed Aux lighting relay

Replaced rusted out fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel filter, fuel pump, oil filter and oil last weekend. Rebuilt the carb mid-week and took her for a spin to the local pick-a-part where I pulled a brake booster off an 89 Supra for $30.
