Cam tower went from minor annoyance to top of the list
It traveled down manifold heat shield and hit the drive shaft and has been flinging everywhere.

Did this coincide with an oil change, or change in viscosity or something?Cam tower went from minor annoyance to top of the listIt traveled down manifold heat shield and hit the drive shaft and has been flinging everywhere.

Moab will put you at some wonky angles that you don't normally see when off-roading. Oil might have gotten to a weak spot not normally seen when level.I honestly dont know — I only found it because of an oil change. I was in moab all week and happened to be under my truck replacing screws missing from the skid plates and it was dry. I went to go get oil, opened the drain and saw spray everywhere so decided to drop all the skids. I've been running 5w-30 for a very long time.

Another fun fact, upper arms are asymmetric in length. Just as driver vs passenger springs are asymmetric.
Love to be there...please post pictures!View attachment 3912346
Camping trip in Utah to get out of the Vegas heat.
Hoping to take a day trip in to SLC to go to the heritage museum. I see Saturday they are having a Cruisers and Coffee gathering there. Anyone going?

Really interesting.. any idea why? Seems like an unacceptable compromise simply for packaging reasons. Something to do with torque steer maybe? Or to account for sagitta of the rear axle and panhard combo?
They didn’t know for certain that this was the reason, but a Toyota engineer (TAS engineer) told me that was likely the reason. The control arm lengths and angles probably greatly diminish the effects of axle movement on drivability in the first place. So, I imagine this is compensation for the remainder.I doubt it's for packaging issues. If I had to guess, I likewise think it's to compensate for panhard geometry and possibly driveshaft torque.
I've had the XXL version of the Thule Motion XT since 2018. We use it for at least a couple trips per year, and it has served us well. We got 5 duffels that pack up into the space, and it makes a big difference on long trips. No real complaints (apart from the inevitable practical downsides of dealing with the thing before and after). Once it's mounted, you barely notice it's there.Looking at a cargo box - Thule Motion 3 XL Low - any opinions?
Thanks. With the garage measured, I placed the order! Looking forward to putting this on.I've had the XXL version of the Thule Motion XT since 2018.
