I'll give the brace credit. I think it's impossible to build something impervious unless taking on ridiculous weight. Even that compounds when the overall rig gets so heavy with armor that every armored piece needs to be built stronger again to be sufficiently robust at the new weight level.

Perhaps the difference with the brace is that getting home was still an option versus a more severe bend that totally compromises alignment?

Thinking out loud, could your stainless brace be built into a stage 2 version with a more extensive aluminum "cap", instead of the current brackets? That spans the critical middle section? Not sure if I explained that well enough.
Those are good points.

I know what you mean by the stage 2 cap. I'll look into it.

I have 2 more sets of of the arms I have on my LX, which require the front mount modification and you will need to supply the bushings. I'll give them away for free.

PM me if interested. E&E customers have first dibs. :)

I was getting so tired of the dome light button not being illuminated (I drive a lot at night) so I decided to take matters into my own hands. Installed some tritium tubes above and below the button to make it easy to find even when the car is turned off. I will never understand why Toyota didn't illuminate these buttons from the factory. They look slightly brighter in the pic from the exposure but they work really well. Now I won't be unlatching my sunglass holder every time I want to turn on the light

The LX is illuminated. I wonder if you could have just ordered the factory parts for the Lexus models. I like the radioactive solution though.

Hahahaha thanks. I believe the parts aren’t interchangeable :/
Pretty sure there was a thread where someone took apart the LC one and added LEDs and the buttons were able to be backlit. Might be misremembering that though.

Do you have a link to the tubes you used?

I got the 3x15mm vials. I got green and ice blue, but the green is a fair bit brighter so even though the ice blue matched the interior lighting better, I installed the green. Might do the blue on the spot lights. I used the norland adhesive they offer, and I got a UV light off of amazon.

My stock 27f SLA battery died after exactly five years and I'm rolling the dice with an oversized AGM. While the stock Toyota alternator does not put out enough voltage to properly charge an AGM, I did do the diode hack to get a higher-than-stock voltage output from the alternator to help address this issue. Some pics....

New to me 2009 200 series needs halogen bulb upgrade.
Im not really wanting to run LED.
Has anyone done the H9 bulb swap for the H11 bulb on he low beams?
Im also wondering about replacing the hb3/9005 high beam with 9011?
Thx for any replies

9011s in the high beam spots are awesome.
