Couple questions for you: what's a lollipop nut?

And, how do these compare to the stock steps for entry/exit. do they stick out further? or get in the way?

Addressing your second question first, I got the ones with the bump out in the back, for a whole host of reasons ranging from I like the way they look, to I have older relatives that might appreciate a wider step to the rear seats, to I appreciate how they might help in more technical situations. Bottom line is that they stick out further across the full length. With that said, they are also held on with far more robust bolts than the surprisingly small six bolts that hold on the OEM steps. (When I pulled them off I was stunned that they had not been flexing when stepped on, they are weak across every dimension.)

As to lollipop nuts, they are essentially nuts with a stick welded to them which allows you to place them in positions where you could not get a nut ordinarily. With maybe 8-10 inches of reach, you can put them into a hole on one side of the frame, and have the nut positioned at a hole further down the other side of the frame. It allows you to put on the sliders with existing holes without having to drill new holes. The issue is that you have no sense of where they are at, or even real feel, since they are remote from your fingers. Strange to say the least. Rob has good tips in his video, but there is still a learning curve. (When I put my Manik brush guard on my Silverado many years ago I had to drill out holes, it was not only a pain, but it created opportunities for rust. Manik is now out of business, and the Silverado is long gone, but the scars remain. While I am not a fan of lollipop nuts, I certainly appreciate their utility.)
 
Applied anti-squeal to the front brakes (did the rears a couple months ago). Finally nice a quiet when I stop now.
Lubed the propeller shafts. They took a lot of grease.
Changed out the Tranny fluid and filter. Very messy job.
All fluids have been changed now.
Last thing left to do is replace the leaking ball joints.

Curious how many miles on your transmission and what the filter looked like? Changed my 100's filter at 220k and it was almost 100% plugged.
 
Any noticeable difference while driving in shift quality or performance?
It seemed to shift a bit smoother but that could just be because I want it to. Haven't really driven it much since the fluid change. One short trip to pick up wheels while trying to reach the bank as the ATM dispensed three $20's instead of three $100's. So wasn't paying as much attention to the shifting. Will see if I can feel a difference the next time I get to drive it.

Either way, the LX is much happier now with all new fluids (all synthetic except tranny)
 
Finally hung the Budbuilt ultimate sliders that had been sitting in my garage for months waiting for warmer weather. They are crazy heavy and well built...and a bit of a pain to put on. (First time dealing with lollipop nuts, BTW that whole process is completely unnatural.). Taco2Cruiser’s video from the Budbuilt website helped immensely, probably watched it five times before it was all done. Besides the sliders, the picture also shows the homemade three inch lift ramps I used for the front tires to match with the jack stands I used in the rear so that I had enough room to slide underneath. You really don’t need much room to hang them, but being able to tuck underneath helps.View attachment 2269174
I was envious that you had the Bud Built sliders sitting in your garage while I have been waiting for nearly two months on my order. Mine finally arrived yesterday even though UPS delivery was showing Monday. Made for a nice Bud Built slider install weekend for both of us on classic silver LC 200's.

Lollipop P2 sucked, I finally got it past the point where it hangs up. Now I know why @Taco2Cruiser cringes when he sees undercoating. The Fluid Film that I applied in November didn't go anywhere other than all over my gloves, arms and anything I touched including the driveway. The price to pay for rust prevention.

Also had to reference the video several times on the iPad w Fluid Film smudges. Really glad they put the video out and thanks to @KLF for the props.
These are solid and heavy. The UPS driver thanked me for helping him carry from the street to the driveway. Takes about 2 minutes to remove the factory boards yet a good day and a six pack to get these rock sliders on solo. Nice quality and attention to detail on the packing and marking all the bolts and plates. Used four Rhino ramps, backed up in reverse, was easy and they didn't slide.

For reference, this is the rock slider model, with rear kickout and dimple die down.

I put about 2-3 oz in each slip yolk. (My grease gun uses the tiny cartridges) There was no movement in the slip yolk.
I was under there after a 4-5 mile drive on the highway and there was very little grease anywhere near the 6 zerks, so hopefully I did not over fill them.

I just went out and checked again since I did a 40 min drive yesterday (half city, half highway) and the exposed parts of the slip yokes (the silver areas) were both dry. Very little grease splatter anywhere. So not sure if they really aren't getting compressed enough or hopefully I didn't over do it. I had 9 oz total to start and probably have 2 oz left.

I washed my Heritage Edition today...all the car washes are closed for the time being. I did Install SPC Adjustable Upper A Arms, after installing the 2 1/2" leveling kit I was at the limits of proper alignment. This seems to have done the trick, yes a shock kit would have done the trick but when I eventually get there I'll have the correct upper a-arms in place. Little by little, steady by jerks....
 
More "social distancing" saw plenty of other people to include a nicely built white 16+ on rock warriors with (I think) ARB front and Dissent rear bumpers.

Lollipop P2 was definitely not a good time. I might have used some colorful language to help it along. BTW, what size tires are those and did you put on a lift to fit them? (I love your color matched bumper, but I need a hoop for deer protection or I would be asking about that too!)

Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/75/18. Not lifted yet. Bought BP-51s and having Rob at Bud Built install once I can drive down there.

I have to laugh when people talk about taking sliders off every couple of years - no way in heck mine are ever coming off unless it is to move them to another LC. Even then, I'd have to think hard about whether to just buy a new set from Budbuilt.

Yes, there is no way I am ever taking these off. If I get another LC I will just buy new ones.
