Bought an 3in 7 ton swedish army tow strap. Also two fat D-rings. This weekend is time to test OEM winch :D

I finally got around to finishing my NL dual battery install, upgraded starting battery, and an ARB compressor. Slee brackets on both batteries and ARB compressor. I used an AOB switch for the compressor. Thanks for all the help on the forum, especially the wiring help on my ARB compressor.

Nice job, looks very sanitary.

Where did you get your battery terminal covers from?

I bought the military spec battery terminal covers for the starting battery from Amazon. I trimmed the exisiting Toyota positive terminal cover to still fit. Unfortunately, after many hours of searching, I couldn't find a US source for the 3 stud terminal covers. Paul at Equipt1 used to carry them along with the 3 stud terminals, but he said NL discontinued the covers years ago. There are some sources in Australia and NZ I found, with the cheapest with shipping being from Partzonline.co.nz. I ordered an extra set and they only had the positive terminal covers, so I painted one black.

Did you get a Group 31 blue top to fit into the starter location ? Nice clean install !

Yes, went with the Group 31 marine for main battery and Group 35 for backup. Both are X2Power (rebranded Northstar) from Batteries Plus.

Same here. Type 31 Main and type 35 2nd...but main was a huge Interstate, and second was Odyssey. Both feel super-powered! Engine crank was literally a different sound...though that most likely points to the weakness of the old one. :)

I got the that little plastic bin for my center console. Love it. Thanks for posting that guys.

Also, got this fixed the other day. Do you see it?

Let me get a little closer:

Been driving around with that bolt half hanging out for over a month....I started getting a scraping sound when turned full lock, after I've had the mods for a while. I was like, da fxxx is that? Finally looked under the car with a second set of eyes, and bingo. You can see in the second pic where the bolt head was scraping the inner lip of the wheel.

I had been the Toyota dealer just before my trip to Expo East and specifically said to look at all suspension components and make sure everything is tight. Anyway, I went to Toyota and they slapped a new nut on, and had them Locktite it down just for good measure. Luckily, I was only about two miles away from them when we finally saw it.

Anyone else ever have that happen? Fluke? Damaged threads from the get go?

Most likely it was tightened with an air gun and not a torque wrench.

Is that the 12s Platinum? The reason I ask is I'm curious if it makes any difference in fitting as I'm interested in the Platimum's wireless remote, which would be great when winching alone. Did you have to buy a relocation kit for the solenoid over your bumper?
Just the regular 12s with a relocation bracket w wiring kit 89970 .. the fit is still very tight. If you are installing it on a ARB bill bar definitely check the fit guide first

I put a flatlink on last weekend too! I would post a picture, but we only get about 3 hours of daylight this time of year in Alaska & I'm at work during those. Will get some this weekend & get them up.
