Just got back from DV with 5 other 100s...was there from the 15th until the 19th...cool place...pic of tire carrier recently added for fuel needed in DV.

^ Chris, we were in/around DV just before you guys: 11/3-9. The weather was just incredibly nice: Warm and near zero wind until the night of the 8th.

Sounds like we got the rest of that excellent weather....shoot, it was cooler than Phoenix is now...that's a place that could be explored for many days...I added extreme washboard to one of my least favorite conditions though...
go faster, it gets smoother.

55-60 and it was still rattling the truck to pieces. They were more like moguls Thank god we didn't drive all of racetrack road. That would have sucked.
Finally mounted a 31 Series Battery tray. Extreme washboard roads caused my 31 series battery to move and rub against the radiator supports. Hopefully this tray will prevent this.

Yes...Toyo Open Country AT2 in 285/75R18. I ran through two sets of the original OC AT in the same size and they proved very capable for an AT tread and incredibly tough (except in the treadwear department) carcass and sidewalls...for any type of tire AT or MT!
With more void in between the rubber lugs and the same carcass and sidewall construction along with their advertised longer life (this size AT2 features a 50,000 mile treadwear guarantee) I think Toyo addressed the negatives in their original OC AT model variant.
Can't wait to get them in the dirt and rocks.

Wow the AT2 look pleasing to the eye as well as promise to be functional design.
Awesome! I've been eyeing these for about 6 wks. While attempting to track down 17" wheels. The 285/75/17 would be great for my rig.

Got Sam at Lowe's Toyota to send me cv rebuild kits and some steering stuff that is beginning to wear out. I guess it's excusable with 200k!!!
Received a couple of battle scars on an epic adventure of Death Valley with some fellow Mud members. Six 100's and an 80 with a trailer full of firewood. Good times.

Seems like these could be a good upgrade from my current 295/70-18 Nitto Terra Grapplers.. Im curious if I need to bite the bullet and go with a .5 inch body lift first..??

Group 31 battery tray and bracket install
Finished up my group 31 battery mod.
I picked up a standard tray from McMaster-Carr and bolted it down to the fender well then I had a friend machine a hold down clamp for me. I powder coated it and have put a 1/32 strip of 80A high strength rubber under the bracket for a nice snug fit.
For the military battery clamp I bought a 3” X 3” inch piece of .125 thick tin flashed buss bar and machined it so I could bend it and have it bolted through the 3/8” bolt on both sides of the clamp. That was my second piece I bought so if any one needs a 1” wide by 12” long X .187 thick buss bar let me know.

Is that what was recommended with 200K? I would think that with that many miles and a DD that you would end up buying new and rebuilding the old ones for trail spares. Guess you don't know if they are original or if they have been replaced at some point....
On our Thanksgiving trip to SoCal, I blew through two of my Michelins out in El Mirage, so I ended up with new rubber... Goodyear Duratrac 275/70/18's are now on.
