Installed a HF Apex winch to replace my old Ramsey that died recently. The winch itself is a beast, but fit with plenty of room inside the ARB. The only real negative is that the control box is absurdly large. I ended up disassembling the Apex control box and modifying the Ramsey box to fit everything. I mounted it behind the RF headlight.

After quite a bit of research I decided to stick with my roller fairlead. IMO, it suits the ARB design better than a hawse and gives the rope better protection.

I might have considered a Warn VR, but I had a $100 gift card to HF from Christmas and caught it on sale too. The winch appears well built and offers a lot for the money.

Any chance you can share some more pics on how the kill switch is mounted and where?
I'm just about to do the same set-up as far as control box location and including the kill switch as well...

I sure can. The switch really isn’t “mounted” per se. It’s just held in place at the moment by the stiffness of the cables. I have the positive cable routed from the control box across the radiator then down and around the battery to the cutoff switch.

I might make a bracket for the switch that mounts on the battery tie down. That seems to be the easiest way to make a permanent mount in the area.

Installed the Delta VS panhard drop bracket. Easy job and trust it solves that awful death wobble / sagitta ass shake the cruiser got following its (ironman) ~ 5cm lift. Funny enough i only had the death wobble on concrete - not tarred - highways. Look how nicely its levelled the panhard bar...

New fog lights/turn signals, and a comparison to the original ones.

I also installed a new headunit, but seems like connections for the front left speaker and rear right speaker are loose.

Was the death at certain speeds or all the time?

Which ones did you go with? I’m motivated to do mine now.
I got these ones and was surprised how well the quality seemed:

Well, today I woke up to sunny weather which is not too common here in the PNW during this time of year LOL... so I decided to go ahead and swap out the power window motor and while in there also swap out the power lock actuator since mine have been giving me trouble in the summer. Man, what a PITA!

The power window motor went surprisingly quick and easy considering there are zero DIY's on the interwebs regarding how to do it. The window now opens and closes much quicker but I feel adding some lube to the rails will definitely help a bit more.

The power lock actuator is where I ran into a ton of problems... After spending almost an hour trying to figure out how to release the (2) little rods at the door handle I finally started to make progress and had the new actuator in within minutes. Tested it, and everything looked great. Put everything back together and out of nowhere the motor started making an awful grinding noise WTF. I took the whole thing apart again and thought it was a bad motor, swapped a new one in again and same thing! Worked great for a few lock/unlock cycles and then started grinding again. After some tinkering and troubleshooting I realized the (3) screws that hold the actuator in don't actually seal the housing and the RTV I used hadn't dried yet so it was pushing the case apart resulting in the awful grinding noise. Did a few dabs of super glue while the RTV seals and it's finally working great.

I'm not relishing the door lock actuator job...
I did two of mine. I read through the walkthroughs here and got started. It wasn’t terrible but it was a little tough getting the thing out. It felt like one of those puzzle games you get at Cracker Barrel where you have to have things perfectly positioned then everything just Comes apart with no effort. The most worrisome part was separating the to sides of the motor housing. I was terrified I was going to break it the whole time. It took me 2 hours for the first one with a 2 year olds help.

I’ve been looking at cameras for the front. I’m tired of coming up over ridges and not being able to see where the trail goes or if it even continues. I’m still on a wrangler site and saw this and it looks great. The guy Ted that wrote the post I’ve been in contact with for a few years. He wheels all over the country and I trust what he says.
So I bought it yesterday for my LX470
I’ll post up my thoughts after I get it installed.

I installed this unit a few months ago since my swing outs obscure the rear view. Loving it so far. The front camera is on the rear of the mirror/display, so it may be a little high up you for you to see over the hood + any armor you might have. I've been considering adding a small wireless unit to see the trail from the bumper height. Looking forward to your thoughts once you get it in.

Can you post a night shot? In my LX, driver and passenger side beam line up until 30-40 ft but beyond that they do not.
Are you referring to beam height? As in the drivers side beam begins to be lower than the passengers side at 30-40ft. If so, this is intentional to help prevent blinding oncoming traffic as it approaches your drivers side ____,———
