Rebuilt my master cylinder today. Cold weather starts the pump would spit and cycle for a minute or two. Replaced the booster motor a few months ago. Hopefully this fixes it. The old master guts didn’t look damaged but the brake pedal is much more responsive now.

Back with a shiny coat of new paint and raptor on the bumpers and sliders. The weathertech floor liners are in and tomorrow the Escape Gear seat covers and spare tire cover go on. Monday it's getting new brakes, CVs and a Slee Diff Drop. Coming soon - new steering wheel.

I love this! I have the same rear bumper and it's all faded pretty badly. Did you take off the bumper or spray it on the truck? How did you prep it? Did you sandblast it or just used some sand paper?

Okay, so some details on the paint job. Both rear quarter panels had signs of paint failure and along with the normal dings and dents and more than a few of Mother Nature’s pin stripes, it was time for a new dress for this old girl. I checked around for some quotes and found a reasonable deal at a local shop that mostly does custom painting, “Killer Kustoms” in Hillsboro, OR. Alex Espinosa and his two boys did the job in just under three weeks. The body had all the dents fixed and prepped for a base and clear coat of the original Champagne Pearl color. I had them do the side molding in the same color instead of the contrasting color that it originally came with.
The bumpers were sanded and coated with black Raptor Liner. It’s a little harder and shinier than Rhino, and I originally considered doing the side molding and lower doors with it in body color, but Alex said the tintable Raptor can be a little hard to match as it is kind of an off-white prior to tint. I may go back and have him do it anyway, either in black or paint over it in body color, but that’s for later. The front bumper was definitely the worse for wear as it’s been on the truck for about 14 years. Except for the UV fading, the powder coat had held up remarkably well considering the abuse. The rear bumper is only a few years old and didn’t need much prep at all. Raptor adheres well to pretty much anything. They were able to do it without removing the bumpers, which saved me some money and time without the truck. If I was thinking of making her a true mall crawler show truck, I wouldn’t have spared the expense, but as it’s still going to be used and abused, I’m very happy with the result.
I’ll post more pix later today as I get some other stuff finished up.

“It's loud... I'm going to extend the tail pipe to clear the truck and add a resonator.

I'm not an automotive engineer... but I think the drone issue might be caused by not cleaning the truck's body.

But still... nice setup…”

I’m thinking the resonator will probably make the difference more than clearing the body, but that’s just MHO. I’ve had other cars where adding one really helped after switching to a more open exhaust system. It’ll be interesting to hear if you notice any nice performance gains after driving it for awhile.

I got this one... Has excellent reviews and several Tundra trucks have it and they like it.

Amazon product ASIN B000E3VHWI
It looks too small... but I'm no expert.

All that work just to be able see behind me. Routing the cable inside the tailgate all the way to back of the radio is a major PITA. Now lets see if I get pulled over for covering up TEXAS on the plate.

Thanks for the details, really helpful! Looks like your truck should be set for a long while now

Well I had this bright idea of removing the Lexus and LX470 badges of a BLACK truck. 17 years and the shilouette of the lettering pretty much baked into the paint. Tried to polish it out and well done of the paint burned through womp womp. Now I have more reasons to wrap it 😁

I’m going with a cherry bomb as a resonator….

Cherry bomb on a Hundy. What is happening to the world I knew? Handheld computers they call "cellphones". "Cutting the cord" in favor of "streaming". Battery powered cars that go 200 miles.

What was wrong with 4 on the floor and carbs (and I'm not referring to counting calories)?

Where's my gdamn wheelchair and specs?!
