Knocked out rear brake pads today. Would have been about an hour, had those little bastard clips cooperated. No screech warning, just Tuesday morning metal on metal grinding. Should’ve paid a little more attention I suppose.

I'm thinking about doing Raptor liner to my truck. My wife hates the idea.

But I bought this truck for camping, trips and exploring... so I thought it's a good idea. I need to decide soon my hood looks like crap and I hate it.

I'm going to do the prep work and painting with a friend of mine at his shop... so it's a bit different.

I got a quote for $3k at a reputable shop just in case.
I’ll be sure to post pix, so you can see how it turns out.

@2020 Rocks what airaid tube did you use, first gen tundra?
Yep, model 511-761. Mounting tabs on my old air intake were busted, had old tubing, etc. The airaid kit comes with everything needed, although I ended up needing a 1.5 ft of some vacuum hose. Cheaper than a new air intake, cheaper than K&N from what I came across.

Before seeing this, I had wondered if there was an intake tube that retained the factory air box but eliminated that labyrinth of air chambers on the factory tube. Thanks for posting this!

My girlfriends new 2002 with my 2019.

So far I've :

-Knocked out those heater tees
-Changed oil (Mobil 1 High Mileage 5w-30), transfer case fluid, transmission fluid, added red coolant.
- Lubed the sunroof cables with lithium based WD-40
- Replaced Fuel Filter
- New fuses in the battery terminal
- Drove the s**t out of it..........
Hey @bmlittle , do you have a description or link to a "how-to" for lubing the sunroof cables? Thanks!

a couple of days ago, I installed a steering wheel with buttons from the LS460/LS600 on a non-restyled LX470 1998-2002. I spent most of my time re-soldering the resistors in the cruise control to make it work. Under the steering spiral wire, I used the factory one for 6 pins. All buttons work except HOLD, DISP, RESET, but these buttons can also be connected to the radio by selecting and soldering resistors. but I didn't have enough of another pin to light up the buttons on the steering wheel. In order for the button illumination and steering wheel heating to work, you need to install steering wheel switches and a spiral wire for 12 pins from LX470 from ~2004.

I also installed a steering wheel with buttons on the TLC100 1998

First of, I can't thank this forum enough for the sheer wealth of skill and information. This does wonders to the ever growing community.

Having said that, here's an update on my LX.
Basically I dropped it off at the mechanic to do a big service which included:
- Timing belt
- Water pump
- All Pulleys
- Tensioner
- Thermostat
- Fan clutch
- Tees
- Axles
- All kinds of new seals and gaskets
- Front/Rear breaks

What I've done the last 2 weeks:
- Wheels/Tires (295/70R17 KM3s on Black Rhino Bantam bronze wheels)
- AHC fluid
- Trimmed fender & grind(ground 🤔) back part of the well due to minor rubbing on tight turns.
- New navigation digitizer
- New halo headlamps with LED low beams
- Diff fluid, front/back/T case
- Oil change (air and oil filter)

What's next:
- Transmission fluid
- Ball joints (upper/lower)
- Inner/outer tie rods (new rack? Maybe, still figuring that out)
- Rear steel bumper and spare tire mount. Intend to trim this bumper as it sits very low it seems. It's a no brand bumper I got from a local dude.
- Shocks ? Maybe, AHC still works great
- AHC globes? Maybe, I feel a slight stiff bounce every now and then. Wondering if the one ore more of the globes might be bad. Maybe I'm just tripping, lol.

Any other recommendations?

Trying to wrap up all the mechanical work and start doing some work on the inside as well as get a few other things I'll need.

@wormwood Details on your new headlights please?
Of course. I got them from Amazon and they were around $200. They come with light bulbs but I upgraded the low to LEDs. They're very easy to install. With a very tiny caveat, the body trim that surrounds the head lights doesn't have to be removed to pull them out. They slide in/out relatively easy. However, you'll want to use one of those body trim tools to unclip a plastic pin holding the trim down (it's right between the low/high beams. I can show a pic if needed) or you'll likely end up breaking the trim off like I did on one side, lol.

Edit: The halos need to be spliced into other cables to power them up. Again, very easily done with snap on connectors in my case.

Not sure how they perform but looks slick. Wish there was an affordable option like that for LC.
