Was the space between the seal and the outboard lip rusty at all? Mine has a little corrosion, likely from a previous water crossing.
Yes, there was some lite corrosion.

Marathon seat covers came in the mail this morning....... but have to finish a mini bathroom remodel first

Added rubber stripping to cull wind noise around door seams. These came standard on later model LX470, but on my 1998. Had to drill a couple of holes here and there to make everything fit.
Edited to add part numbers (prices from Partsouq.com)

After two and a half years, I really can't say that there is. There's a lot nicer platforms out there but for what this one cost, it's still going strong. I found some bins that fit nicely underneath it and the 2.5 gallon jerry can water jugs fit as well. If I was do it again, I'd probably do the same exact thing.
Thank you. Only thing I may try to add are some tie down points that will fold flush. I plan to use it more as a flat load floor than a sleeper but who knows.

@GigEm94 I planned to use mine mostly as a sleeper but I think it sees more cargo use than it does sleeping use. It's normally in full length mode until the kids need the back seat. If you're going to use it mostly for cargo, I'd get some nice wood to use. Like some 9 ply 1/2" Baltic birch plywood would be perfect. I couldn't source any locally so I opted for some cheap stuff. It holds up fine and is good for two people camping, but I don't like putting a loaded cooler in the middle where there's no supports.

Mounted 2ft Firestik antenna on a spring for CB & FM radio.

Used the original antenna hole in the fender and a universal Firestik mount + spring. Had to grind out the hole a little, there is more than enough room around the mount and sping now.

Some heatshrink around the PL connector & mount that sticks through fender, just to be sure.

I’ve been wanting to add a CB without having to have an extra antenna. Since I don’t use the radio for fm/am and my antenna is broken off anyways, this is great. I know most don’t like the CB because it’s “old tech” or “not used by anyone” but we use them around the farm and while hunting. If you’ve got any advice I’ll definitely take it. I’ll be attempting this project soon.

I did this on my 2007 just recently. My impression is that it did make for a noticeably quieter ride.

Few things. Put a foam/rubber seal between radiator and fromnt chassis to stop hot air re-entering engine bay.

Removed steel rack , inspected the absolute bs rust/stains and corrosion left over in pain and even sunroof glass stained from drip drip drip of rust milkshake. Never buying steel again.

Took the roof tracks weather strip off, cleaned that gutter out pretty thoroughly, buffed the roof AND then put rhino rack platform on. Day and half job jeebuss

Still trying to get my rough idle figured out. After spark plugs, coils, maf cleaning and fuel injectors, I went to the PCV valve today.
Valve was fine, grommet was crunchy. Valve came out, grommet went in. 😭😭😭

I guess it’s time to install all the gaskets and covers on the engine as I work my way down over the next 10 hours...

Finally added a disconnect switch for my winch. Had been thinking about it for over a year at this point.
@ftzgrlds1 planted the bug a while ago: What have you done to your 100 Series this week? - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/what-have-you-done-to-your-100-series-this-week.609679/post-13436968
Used @Ramathorn15 supplied accessory mount tray: 100 Series Land Cruiser and LX470 Accessory Tray - https://owlexpedition.com/products/100-series-land-cruiser-and-lx470-accesory-tray

Also, added PCV valve cover (not sure what it does but it was under $2 to add to my Partsouq order. Final part I added is the main fuse box cover. Mine had busted clips and crumbling moisture seal.
Part numbers:
12236-50010 COVER, VENTILATION VALVE
82677-60010 COVER, JUNCTION BLOCK, UPPER NO.2

Installed my Rough Country ditch lights last night and stubby antenna a week prior.

Any ideas on how to make the switch fit in the factory slot or do I have to get an OEM style one?

Is the DRL not on a separate wire?
It is. But wouldn't I need a switch with 3 settings?

The current switch slides up (drl), center is off and down is the on setting.

(think of a seesaw)
