Earned some trail damage from Fins and Things. The built Jeep guys were amazed it was stock (admitted I had a front locker), and the SxS behind me was filming me- works for Toyota and figured out today why the techs all drove 100s. More pics on the Photos thread.

What's your hitch setup? It looks nice and low profile!
Seems like the LXs have the receiver through the middle of the back bumper instead of below like the LCs. It keeps my basket high when overlanding with 4 totes on the back, but is a PITA to actually mount anything in it - the spare tire blocks the male position from getting in far enough for the pin to slide through. I had to drill a new hole last year for my basket, and that hitch with no ball is held in temporarily with 4 metal screws - I hoped it would take damage before the bumper, it it never got touched. Also, with the basket in, you can't lower the tailgate all the way...so it's a trade off.

That makes sense about the stinger not having enough room to fit all the way in. I guess the hitch below is a double edged sword. It hangs down pretty low, but it does take impacts first which probably protects the body. It seems like it would be nice to gain those few inches of clearance though!

Agreed! I rubbed 4-5 times on Broken Arrow in Sedona (with the basket on), and that was a cakewalk compared to Fins and Things.

New Shoes and Socks today.

Falken Wildpeak 275/70R18 from Walmart on the recently repainted 2005? wheels.

Needs step sliders now. Badly.

I really enjoyed the performance my Falken M/Ts gave me. I had a set on my Excursion... Is this your first set? They can get a little noisy with age. They really look trick on those fresh painted OEMs.

Cool. I put a set on my 570 last September - haven't put much mileage on them so still nice and quiet. I do need to repaint the center caps.

I just purchased a 2000 LX470 with 195k Miles it is in wonderful shape and completely stock. I am deciding on new wheels and tires good quality without breaking the bank. I want an aggressive look and i will be taking it on the beach a lot because i live on the beach. Any recommendations on wheels and tires ???

My interior pry bar set arrived late yesterday so I dove into my O.W.L Expeditions Media Mount installation this morning...

The directions provided were exceptionally well done except for the steps to remove the antenna and another hard wire from the rear of the cassette tape deck prior to removal from the chassis.

I painted my Media Mount and the RAM 1" Ball Mount and extension a silver hammer finish but my work lamp suggests I could have gone a shade darker to soften the O.W.L. and RAM black finish provided.

The RAM X-Grip has served me well on my Multistrada so I went with it again here. It looks like I got everything back in it's place without issue. Excellent fit and finish and the i8 rides in style in yet another mobility platform...

Cheers mates,
G

Hello, new member here.

What have I done to my 100 series this week? I bought it!

2004 LX470 with 84k miles on it. The previous owner kind of "blinged" it out with the later model 20" OEM wheels, so i'll need to swap those out for a proper set with all terrains.

I've owned several vehicles in my life, and i've never felt as giddy with those as I have driving and looking at this thing. Well, maybe the S2000. And base model '98 Tacoma...

Here are some pics right after I picked it up from the used car lot. The last picture is the AHC system on "high".

Ooh, that's clean. Big blingy wheels aren't what I'd want for mine, either, but that looks sharp for a town-version LX. Welcome and enjoy! I'm jealous of the 190k miles that aren't on yours vs mine.

I'm finding there's a lot of crossover between S2000 people and landcruiser/ LX people. My S2000 is the garage dweller, the LX is the current main driver/project. Maybe I just really like Japanese cars of the late 90s/ early 00s.

How’s that grip tape workin? Has it stolen any leg hair from you yet? That’s my main hold-off but damn I’d like some grip.

I had grip tape on some jeep sliders and hated it.
Spent one full day welding brackets for my Bundutec BunduAwn (2.95m) awning, put it up then thought to myself.. This is waaaayyy too biiiiiig..... Dammit.. Gonna get the short one instead... (2.45m)...
