quite cool. need some shots of it in action, possibly worth doing :)

Thanks! Soon on the action shots I hope. Always seems easier to get pics of working on it than actually using it!

Not this week but mounted the FTM-400XDR in a custom @BenCC mount and added some power ports to middle and 3rd rows.

I replaced the blown "D" bulb in the cluster and replaced all bulbs in the climate control panel. Bulb-wise, I'm all lit up EXCEPT figuring out why my PS fog bulb keeps burning out. Photons are so much better behaved than electrons!

Hopefully the truck will now track straight after lbjs, ubjs and tie rods had been all replaced new.

New poly steering rack bushings are now on. I have yet to take it for a spin and find out if issue is resolved.
Holy cow! Never seen such a clean underside.

Spent one full day welding brackets for my Bundutec BunduAwn (2.95m) awning, put it up then thought to myself.. This is waaaayyy too biiiiiig..... Dammit.. Gonna get the short one instead... (2.45m)...

That awing is so big..... you've got a 6 ton crane in the garage just to attach it.

Thank you, rust was one of the few non-negotiable items on my list that had to be 9/10 rating when I was looking for a cruiser more than a year ago.

Used some flowable sealant to temporarily fix this nastiness. I had a leak. I haven't tested its efficacy yet.
Also, installed this "booming" sub. It is actually quite good.
Also, finished up on Audio system upgrade and fine tuning the amp. System sounds so good. Had to grind part of the rear doors to fit 6.5's in them. Had to dremel tweeter pods for new tweeters. Nav delete is complete.
Also, painted carpet. A little more kilmat and I'll be ready to put it all back together.
Oh, and replaced the antenna mast.

Been working on starter, valve cover gaskets, and then a bunch of misc stuff around it for preventative maintenance.

Here's passenger side with valve cover off.

I pried open the PS timing belt cover. Last record i have of Timing belt/water pump being done was 50k miles ago and 7.5 yrs. I don't have any issues with water pump. How's the belt look? I didn't see any cracking. Got the best pics i could. I'm at 170k right now. Hoping i can hold off til later this summer to do it all.

What have done to my 100? Well I’m not totally sure, but I’m pretty sure I destroyed the transmission. So I’m sitting here figuring out where to bring it near Salem VA fully loaded up for our now probably canceled beach trip. Sucks. If anyone knows a decent place that knows Toyota’s and transmission near Salem, Blacksburg, or Roanoke let me know.

Oh crap, check to make sure your axles aren't popped out, the C clip slips off and you won't be able to move unless you lock the center diff.

That’s what I’m really really hoping it is. Because I know my drivers side cv is crap, I noticed the splines were bad when I rebooted and actually have a spare at home.
But the RPMs jump which seems more like transmission slipping than cvs.

508K miles? Original tranny still?

Amazing!! But some puppy teeth splines may have finally given out somewhere.

Your transmission fluid level isn't low is it? That can cause RPMs to jump up if you're sucking air into the torque converter.

2x @FxFormat 's comment--try engaging your CDL. If it moves fine with that engaged, you know something's busted or popped out up front, not in the transmission itself. If it moves with the CDL engaged, crawl under and see if either CV seems not to be fully seated against the hub knuckle. If it's the c-clip (snap ring) problem, the CV will pop inward (toward the differential) so far that the splines won't engage the hub splines and you're dead in the water, but with a relatively easy fix.

Hate to hear from folks stranded on the road side. Just had my front diff fail on the highway on my way back from camping and hated having a car full of kids on the side of the road while i tried to diagnose bad noises. . .

Yeah, actually more 515K if the speedometer were corrected. Original yes.

You need to save this truck at all costs, you're one of the few i know with 500K+ miles that actively post, would like to see this get to 1 million some day.

Good news, it was the axle that slipped out, no I probably gotta redo bearings.
