Trying to gather ideas here as I would really like to do something about the faux wood plastic on the interior. I can swap the shifter handle and I see many folks are happy with the lonkey steering wheel cover. Both are great, but wondering what the ingenuitive folks on here have done with the remainder (across the dash, door panel strips, around the center console, etc. Any thoughts pics would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Can you hydro-dip pieces like that? I'm in the same boat with mine - wife loves the wood look, but I hate the places that it's worn off leaving that ugly brown plastic color beneath it.....

Yeah mine has all been hydro dipped.

@Taco2Cruiser , would love to see how your interior turned out....

The finished product is on this page. You can see the piece pulled out on the previous page.

Side note, this is one of my most enjoyable things I did.

I just never got the idea of wood inside an off road vehicle. Real or otherwise

I recently had my seat memory trim and matching passenger door wood trim recovered in leather/vinyl. The area around the seat memory buttons had cracked and started lifting, and I have a couple friends that do automotive upholstery who felt comfortable matching it up and making it look stock. I chose to do both sides even though the passenger door was fine. I wanted them to match.

We spent quite a bit of time looking at different samples out in the sunlight and landed on this one that I'm very happy with. None of my other wood trim is cracked or lifting.

This looks really slick. If you don’t have “friends”, what kinds of places would you trust to tackle something like that?

I would search out some auto upholstery shops in your area. Ask around to other car guys about which shop may do the best work. I took my door panels apart and removed these sections for him to work on to save myself some money. Ask a lot of questions about how they plan on doing it and explain what your expectations are for how it will look when it's done. My friend did the drivers side twice and you can still see a small raised bit on one corner around the seat memory buttons. First go had two raised corners. I'm sure someone out there could make it perfect but I am happy. It's probably only noticeable to me or if I pointed it out to someone. He also removed the wood veneer from the driver's side and went right over it on the passenger side. I don't think this is noticeable either.

Really appreciate the direction. Think I’m going to get this mini-project rolling soon. Thanks.
