These things are always chasing me somehow. These two had been to all 3 local tire shops since last summer. Then they found there way into my shop.

Easy to see why this one was leaking.

Second one they had installed runflat backwards. Red circle is supposed to line up with valve stem. This was on inside of rim. Could not air down tire as valve stem was covered by runflat.

It's hard to do something right when you don't know what you're doing. Sounds like they finally made it to the right shop.
 
@Bowser What shop do you work at? My cruiser needs some work.
 
These Hutchinson dual bead lock run flats just aren’t around very much. I’ve got Hutchinsons on 4 of my trucks but have since removed the run flat portion on all but demo tires for teaching purpose. I have replaced them with just the dual bead lock insert. The run flat bead lock is about 50lbs extra weight per rim.

I work out of my own shop. My primary focus is keeping my work fleet running for when they go out a half dozen times a year. I get random side things like these Hutchinsons to fix just because my background knowledge of them. Not that I want to fix them but they end up finding me. But I don’t take on any projects currently unfortunately @offoradjunkie

Yeah they are doing my T belt and I need to put in axles too although I will probably end up doing that myself

not a whole lot mostly prep for the summer and rust prevention, also got some new skid plates on the way. took a little drive on the back road between Toston and Boulder, not hard terrain at all but it got me out of the house and there's sweet old mine about half way down the road and good food in Boulder.

I've got those tires on the work truck. They've done okay for my needs. My complaints would be that they catch a lot of small rocks in the tread, they don't balance well, and I'm afraid that I'm going to have to replace them at the end of this summer. I think I have about 21K on them. Lots of it loaded. Lots of it offroad. I've only gotten stuck once and it was in deep snow, going uphill, with a heavy trailer.

Good to know, I’ll have to watch out for balance issues. I went with these because they were the only 255/85R16 AT I could find, and I wanted to try to squeeze in a 33 without too much trimming.
 
spent a few hours going over the front end of the wife's 2005 LX
new pads, rotors, cups, cones, c clips and seals
also got to use my fancy dancy Slee spindle greaser
looks like the squealer was just about making contact
also changed both diff oils and the transfer oil

Recommendation from our friends at Overland Cruisers, I installed a winch disconnect switch on my LX450.

Semi custom Etsy aluminum bracket fits the switch perfectly. Switch is a BlueSea 9003E
Also used a control box relocation kit, Universal fit, 4ft wires, from Vice Design.
 
Upper and lower front control arms on the LX yesterday. Those frame bushings are a PITA.

Ever since i was working on a hub with the front axle only supported by a hydraulic jack and me with my legs splayed wide open when the seal decided it was time to fail i have been much more concerned about the boys along with other body parts while working under a vehicle. while there is still plenty of sketch that occurs out here and i do admire the stack job but
 
that winch disconnect is a great idea, just make sure it;s rated for the amps. we were standing around drinking water bs'n after coming off a trail when the most horrible noise came from tim's truck. it was an old harbor freight winch that wasn't very waterproof and it finally decided to fail in front of us. the solenoid had rusted internally and contact came together and turned itself on. the sound of that iron hook being pulled around the drum definetly got everyone's attention. was a fire drill trying to find a wrench and disconnecting the battery while the front of the truck was self destructing. fun times

I’m hoping this switch is adequate, it’s rated for 350amps continuous and 600amp for 5min, the table below shows draw spec for my winch (comeup seal slim 12,500lb) Thinking I’ll just want to use a double line pull for heavier recoveries.

Certainly open to feedback- OC recommended a 400amp switch but I couldn’t find one.
